I've yet to have a Foss tube not explode.

I'd also like to have a tube that I can put normal patches on...

I think I may actually give the 29+ tube a shot. I still don't think it will be patchable, but I'm curious about the lower weight. I got a used wheel with a foss tube and it failed catastrophically when the bead ripped apart, but that's not really a fault of the tube itself. . . Keep your uni's inside folks, away from the risk of dry rotting your sidewalls clean off. I prefer not to die a horrible death from a upd caused by a blowout at 18+mph.

Successful install of a 29x2.5-3 bontrager tube, 390grams. Not as light as a foss, but feels pretty durable at first glance. I'll keep things posted if something goes wrong. Pumped it up to 40psi and rode it around. I'll let it settle in before bringing it up to 55-60.
