Still need to talk to a couple of key people, but it's definitely looking like the dates will change to Aug 7-9. I should have definite dates in about a week.

The dates have been changed to Aug 7th-9th. I've contacted Gilby about getting the original post on the main page modified. We'll see what he says.

But for those of you thinking of buying tickets or making lodging reservations, the DATES HAVE CHANGED.

There were a number of people who had conflicts on the original weekend dates. With Aug 7-9, no one seems to have conflicts that i'm aware of.

Is it possible to change the dates in your first post? The homepage is still displaying the old dates.

Hey Noli,

The new dates look great. Just wondering, would it be a good idea to start a Facebook event for this? Maybe catch some people who don't follow the forum. (Or maybe there is one and I missed it.)

cool

Which if any of these rides would be appropriate for a 9 year old on a trials uni or a 24" muni if I get one for him by then? I would ride with him on an Oregon. I think it would be a cool experience for him.

I think the Duthie Hill, GasWorks Park and Colonnade rides will be great for a 9 year old. The others will be more "cross-country like" but doable for a kid that is a strong rider on a 24". Done on a trials tire will likely leave them way behind.

Having said that I don't want to discourage anyone from trying any of these trails/venues if they think they are up to it. I've never done Grand Ridge but understand it's a long ride.

Thanks Kenny. I will put it on the calendar. He just had his first trail ride Monday so I wouldn't say he's a strong rider. He mostly rides around the neighborhood and at the school gym. We will see how much trail riding we get in before August. And I'll keep searching for a 24.

Matt

BTW: For kids a 20" is perfectly appropriate for Colonnade as it's not a trail so much as a trials park for a uni. I've played there on both 20" and 24".

We've posted a Facebook Event. Responding there will help us get a head count, until we set up online registration.

Still not sure if there will be a registration fee, but if so, it'll most likely be less than $30 for everything.

Here's an updated schedule. Still subject to change.

Seattle Muni Weekend 2015 Schedule (Aug 7th-9th)

August 7th (Fri)
Duthie Hill Mountain Bike Park (1~5 miles)
I-5 Colonnade Mountain Bike Park (urban mountain bike park)
Gas Works Park (riding & BBQ)
August 8th (Sat)
Tiger Mountain (6 or 12 miles)
Group Dinner. Location TBD
August 9th (Sun)
Hansen Ridge (~6 miles)

We're working on getting a website put together, but there will also be information here:

I think I can make it!

I'm on a 2-month trip in the Northwest around Oregon, Washington and BC, see "Hood River Oregon in July," http://www.unicyclist.com/forums/sho....php?p=1652473

It's looking like I will be able to coordinate my plans and make it to one to two days of the Muni Weekend!!

We're mostly tent camping, and I will be with my family and 2 small kids, so the best would be if there's kid-friendly camping and activities nearby.

I will only have a 26" so not really up for trials, flatland or street...
If I only make one day/place/ride, which would be the best?
Tiger Mountain, Hansen Ridge, or Duthie Hill Mountain Bike Park?

http://www.ivrvpark.com/ (Issaquah, WA)
http://www.srcghsg.com/ (Fall City, WA)

Lastly, this is a listing of campgrounds in the area. Most of them are pretty far.

So from what I can gather, the 3 days are all at different locations?

It looks like the first and third have tent camping and are pretty close to Duthie Hill Mountain Bike Park, and not too far from Tiger Mountain... where is Hansen Ridge?

Any other muni riders camping?

I just checked the Facebook page and it looks like quite a few will be camping at Snoqualmie River RV Park and Campground. Sounds good. Anyone know if that's kid-friendly for a 3 yr old?

Awesome, glad to hear you can make it during your US trip.

Yes, all days are at different locations. I would recommend Friday and Saturday if you can only do 2 days. Duthie Hill Mountain Bike Park is amazing, and Tiger Mountain is the main big mountain day.

None of us have ever stayed at that campground, but it looks very family friendly. It's pretty far from Seattle, but it will be convenient for the muni weekend.

Hope to see you there!
