Sweet! You make me feel better about my skills now

I'm not 100% there yet but i'm getting better...I managed a couple of uphill mounts yesterday and it was great! I was punching the air and shouting WOOOHOOO!!!

I hope to hear updates of your progress in tricks soon....

You could clear an area, level it out w/ a rake and lay down a bunch of pallets and check w/ a carpenters level. I saw someone who basically did that to give ~ a 20X20 ft riding area. Also UPD's would be softer than asphalt.

To keep the pallets from shifting you may want to screw them together.

Keep practicing You could also work pedal grabs into street moves, like switch feet (like a varial w/ the uni staying still on the object), roll hop on, 180 off, 180 spin off, crank flip off, crank walk (land w/ pedal forward and "walk" the uni forward so that pedal is in the back).

In this old vid (definately pre before I came here, not the '08 as posted) Tony Melton does a couple of variations @ 0:56 & 4:43 that I can't remember anyone else doing in a vid, and they don't look all that hard

Today I... idled for about 20 seconds.

Not a big deal for experienced riders, but it's something I've been working on for a month now and thought I wasn't making any process for a long time. So stoked to see it finally coming together.

Today i did nothing. Yesterday (on my 20") I got rolling hop to 45cm high flat rail (~8cm wide), 20cm air going up a 3' plastic quarter onto box, 180 SI static gap, 200 SI prehop gap and a standstill on round rail for about 6 seconds

Today I rode my 36er to work for the first time...Lot's of idiotic comments but that's to be expected.

At finishing time i struggled to free mount so decided to grab the bike shed...Then i jumped back off and washed the vandal grease off my hands

That's nice work. Idling is tough to learn.

Today I did my first ledge grind! It was so perfect, but then I touched my tire at the end of the ledge and beefed it. Strained my knee pretty bad. I'm gonna be out for a day or 2. But it was still sick

Naw I didn't. I probably should have practiced pedal grabs more before hand, but it was still good practice. And the injury will heal in a few days.
