TheOnion.com Archives now open to the public.

TheOnion.com archives have always been locked behind a subscription service.
I don't know when it changed, a quick google will probably make me look like a total Johnny-come-lately, but the archives are available to the public now.

Which excites me for a whole bunch of reasons, but one in particular.

Or as Joseph Campbell might say, "Bliss".

I had a lava lamp when I was a kid. I used to love it. I have no idea what happened to it.

Find it.
Rescue it from it's below-the-stairs dungeon.
Let it's light shine brightly.
Well, somewhat subduedly brightly.

Well, I would, except I not only moved houses about 4 times since the last time I've seen, but I moved to a different country as well. And I can't go back to Russia, because they'll sign me up for the army as soon as I step down from the plane. So, there. I'll just have to get a new one, I guess.

I'm glad you have a solution at hand.
We await pictures of the new Lava Lamp.

Not exactly at hand, as I don't know where they sell them around here. But I'll get one eventually. Do you have one?

I have three.
A Clear Liquid Purple Wax Lamp called George, he lives at the office.
And two Clear Liquid Metallic Green Wax ones both called George, they live at home where I have them plugged into a timer-switch so they get their allotted 8hours burn-time per day.
They burn for 2hours in the morning and 6 in the evening.
I have it set that they're already merrily flooping by the time I wake up in the morning and get home in the evening.
If you burn the lamps for too long in one go, you run the risk of damaging the wax.

You can just see them in the backround on this pic.

Wow! That's really neat. I'm gonna get myself a lamp and a timer as soon as I can. I have an idea where they might sell them.
