Hey,

I have been trying for awhile to land drop offs from pinic tables and blechers, but all that happens is that i can myself or just fall off. Is there any tips i should fallow for a smoother landing?

Don't land with your weight on the seat, use the pedals. Go to unicycletips.com.
There is a video there.

try jumping out a little farther. You shouldn't drop just straight down, and you want to start riding as soon as you hit.

make sure you have the middle of your foot on the pedal and not the balls of your feet else you will hurt yout ankles

i only ever ride with the balls of my feet, i'd never even think about riding with the middle of my foot.

i'll probably find out why it's a bad idea some time soon.

Your legs can only take a certain amount of force, Its good to split tyour weight on the saddle, and on the pedals, especaily on larger drops.

He probably means push on the seat a bit with your hand that's holding the seat, doubt you'd want to sit down..

No no, I mean put your butt on the seat and use that to distrubute your weight between your hand, butt, and legs.

the highest drop of ever done was 5ft. i found the best way is to roll out of it, or dor a quick half a revolution forwards, half a revolution back like trials riders do. have your hand firmly on the handle and as you land distrubute your weight on the pedals and on the seat.

and break your handle(haha mine has white stress marks at every joint)

but something i havn't seen
you have to HOP out of it, and not be scared, if you are afraid of falling you will NOT land it

also, make sure you work yourself up to what you're doing... you can't just get on and hop that high so why would you be able to drop from that high w/o some kind of prerequisite

Pretty much all that needs to be said has been said already, but I just want to stress again that posture is the absolute most important part of doing big drops. If your posture is wrong when you land, you can damage your hub, your cranks, your pedals, the arches of your feet, your ankles, and your nutz0rz.
