I did an 18 mile ride for the first time last week. The course was hilly. I stopped at the end point and got a drink. Coming back I felt fine until about the 14 mile mark. I stopped 2-3 times on the way back, and I was glad to see home. My knee and hip started hurting, and of course saddle soreness.

I wear cycling inner shorts (Cannondale) and regular cycling shorts on top and a KH saddle.

I have the stock 6" cranks. I have smaller cranks on my 20" uni that I may try sometime.

I was very happy to complete the ride and also make it up a hill on the way home that I failed twice before.
