GILD, did you live in the States previously? Are you really in South Africa? How is that? I lived in Guine Bissau for a year, pretty different from the States
![]() I dream of New Zealand, the wife feels the same, our biggest hold back is being able to see the kids and what to do with the animals. I see a plan coming together once the kids are well into college and my mom retires.

I've always lived in South Africa, I just developed a moderately severe fascination with your politics a while ago.
It's clearing up nicely now, but I'm going to finish the course anyway. Not really knowing any other place to live, I suspect I'm always likely to say that South Africa is great place to live. Then again, that's probably what the frog said about his really nice and warm pot as well. We do occasionally think about getting out of here because of the crime and some of the public statements made by some public figures. Been looking at Georgia recently. No, the other one. Anywhere where they don't have BSL basically. And where it isn't too stupid cold. We don't have kids, so that makes it a bit easier. |

Which workers do the South African police kill when they try to go on strike? the miners, yes, the radio announcers, no.
That has not happened in years in the USA, but it doesn't mean those days won't return.

Maestro8,
Corporations are people except when they commit criminal acts. If they were people, someone would go to jail.

I'm sorry, Billy, but I can't help you with your fight unless you actually give me something concrete on which to act.
Why don't you go sign up at http://freespeechforpeople.org/ or http://www.aclu.org/ ? I've been working with these orgs for a while now...

Not sure which post you are referring to ..
I assume you've heard of corporations committing criminal acts for which an individual would be jailed for.
Or were you referring to this? http://www.freep.com/article/2012081...sh-with-police JOHANNESBURG, South Africa -- South African police opened fire Thursday on a crowd of striking workers at a platinum mine, leaving as many as 18 people dead and an unknown number injured. Motionless bodies lay on the ground in pools of blood. Police moved in on striking workers who gathered near the Lonmin mine Thursday afternoon after urging them to give up their weapons and go home to their hostels and shacks. Some left, but others carrying weapons began chanting and marching toward the township near the mine, said Molaole Montsho, a journalist with the South African Press Association who was at the scene.

I think this election has a lot going for it. You have Romney who, at least, is not Obama. And then you have Obama who, at least, is not Romney.

If by "a lot" you're talking about "a lot of money", you're right.
And guess who's holding the biggest bag besides Mittens? If you guessed "Karl Rove", step up and claim your prize! (Read about his PAC here) Do your own investigation here: http://www.fec.gov/disclosure.shtml (Don't worry, the EXTRATERRESTRIAL PHENOMENA POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE is leading the VOTE SARAH PALIN US PRESIDENT 2016 fund by $300 to $0)

Romney's VP choice has some prehistoric ideas about rape, and tried to pass a bill redefining it.
It was co-sponsored by Rep. Todd Akin, who helped upend a Senate race and roiled the Republican Party in a tough election year. But they reflect ideas that the 87-year-old Willke began peddling years ago. http://www.coshoctontribune.com/arti...-ideas-persist Ryan's anti-choice stance is also a big hypocrisy in his "individual freedom" stance.
