Ride cut short

It's the first day of school here and we got both the kids off to school just fine. I was ready for a ride and my wife was heading off to a jazzercise class when she spotted a puppy on the grass of a neighbor. She knocked on a few doors, and asked about the pup, but so far we don't know who the owner is. For know we are happy to give him a home, and I'll just take my ride this evening.

The puppy looks very happy at your place. Maybe you have a new family member.

We went door to door last night and so far no one has claimed the little guy. Also we have not seen any 'lost' posters up in any of the neighborhoods. He is doing great at our house and has managed to learn how to use our dog door to get out to the backyard. We put him in a dog carrier/crate overnight and aside from a little whining he did just fine. We are quickly becoming attached to him and are thinking that maybe we will be able to keep him.

Cute puppy.

May want to call the local animal shelter/animal control too and ask if anyone is looking for a puppy.

Years ago our puppy got out of his collar and we couldn't find him anywhere around our block. My wife saw a "found puppy" flyer over 1/2 mile way and we still have that old girl (by old, I mean the dog).

Thank you for bothering to look after the little one.

I do hope this has a happy ending, either with you or with the original owners.

Woof.

I hope that is a bit tongue-in-cheek. I'm sure the owner of the dog "missed it" to a much greater degree than what your sister experienced after returning it.

@stillup: We cleaned him all up before those pictures were taken.

@UniBrier: After two weeks with no one stepping forward to claim him we have adopted him. We took him to the vet for his shots and check up and he passed with flying colors. We have named him Theodore Bearamore (Teddy Bear). My wife and girls call him Teddy, and I call him Bear. He has almost doubled in size, and his weight has gone from 9 lbs. to 16.5 lbs. Our nine year old Basset isn't too thrilled that we have a new family member, but she's dealy with it and even joins him in an occasional game of tag.
