HAPPY BIrthday for then Harper. I ( and paul) will raise a light to you on harper day as we celebrate with a rail trail ride in our own country- we will be riding the plym valley trail with a long dark tunnel ( a bat roost) , some precarious feeling viaducts and stunning veiws.... I rememebr my ride on the iron horse trail at Unicon 2002 with fond memories. Not quite as white haired as you but sure feeling my own age... sarah

This ride is still scheduled for Sunday, 26 August. I think we're going to meet at around 9:30 to 10:00 somewhere on the east side, maybe the lot where we met last year. So far this is looking like a not very crowded ride with only four riders committed so far. I think James would be number five if he makes the trek from Montana. There is certainly room at my place for him and others to stay. I may be housing JC if he decides to show. I still don't have a foreigner to fulfill the "International" requirement yet.

FOREIGNERS!! Hot dog! How many of you need a place to stay? I have a spare queen-sized bed, an inflatable queen-sized mattress, and a couch.

I should be there. No thanks on the offers for lodging, it's far enough to the pass; I don't feel the need to drive all the way over into the depths of civilization. Plenty of national forest to camp in.

I wasn't there last year and the east side is about 3/4 of the state from my house. I can take the Yukon or the Beemer to haul or shuttle riders if needed.

Hey, this is coming up next Sunday.
We will meet at the lot just south of the Issaquah Park and Ride between 9:30 and 10:00 AM Sunday 26 August. To get to the lot, take exit 15 on I-90 to SR-900 (Renton Road) southbound. Go about four blocks and turn left onto Newport Way. Then, turn right into the driveway to the parking lot. Lots of free parking and it's easy to find people. James may decide to meet us at the entrance to the trail. He'll be at the Hyak exit, exit 54, from I-90. From exit 54 (coming from the east) turn southbound (left) onto SR-906. Go across I-90 and take the first left onto NF-2219. Follow NF-2219 past the cable station to the second right which goes into the Iron Horse Trail Park parking lot. My cell phone number is 206 679 1306. Please let me know who needs accommodations.

Greg et al:
I'm afraid I'm not going to make it after all. I'm travel weary, and starting onto antibiotics for some bronchitis that I've been fighting for a few weeks. Hopefully I can make it for this ride next year, and/or out to Seattle to ride with folks another time. Happy birthday Greg! -James

I'll be able to attend again this year. There will be another rider with me possibly. Have to work out logistics. Look forward to riding with others. Doesn't happen very often.

So far it looks like Bruce, (Sarah), Shannon, Kevin, Tad, Peter, AnSo, Justin, (maybe one other Canadian), Steve, J.D. Miller, and me which makes 10 to 12 riders. We'll need Kevin's monster truck, Steve's Suburban, and maybe my Ford Explorer to take the unis and riders to the top. Then we need a shuttle car to leave at Rattlesnake Lake. The rest we can leave at the park and ride. I will buy four day parking passes unless someone already has one. If so, speak up.
Looks like fair weather will be coming our way. See you at the Issaquah Park and Ride at 9:30 Sunday, 26 August. I'm bringing AnSo, Justin, and perhaps one other yet to be named Canadian with me.

I think we might have picked up another rider. Now it's Bruce, (Sarah), Shannon, Kevin, Tad, Peter, AnSo, Justin, (maybe one other Canadian), Steve, J.D. Miller, Jason, and me which makes 11 to 13 riders.
REMEMBER TO BRING A BRIGHT LIGHT for the tunnel!

Hi,
I'm Marshall, "the other Canadian". I'll be coming down with AnSo and Justin tomorrow night, so if I could take you up on the hospitality offer that would be great! |
