Yeah! Good luck!
tell us when we can see it, and whether it's on YouTube!

Had an interesting conversation with my supervisor today, and I can't help but wonder, are they trying to transition me into a desk job already?
It started last year when I was asked if I had any interest in plans. Went to one meeting last year and sort of got my toe in the door and now I find I had quietly slipped in to a spot as the plans section chief for a type two team for the East Boreal region. I thought that was pretty good and am hoping I get to go to some good fires this year. Then my supervisor mentions that both him and Kevin (the opposite supervisor) got put on a team together so there was a real chance the base could be left without a supervisor and someone would need to take care of the office while they are gone. uh, OK "we will get you some training" "Sure, thanks" So, Plans section chief means I will definitely need to attend some courses, seminars etc, and "acting FBS" would probably require a few courses as well. And here I thought this year would finally be more doing and less training. (Not that I have any problem with getting trained for various roles) Any way you spin it it's going to be an interesting year.

But you can't sit behind a desk holding a flaming chainsaw?
Can you? |

Interesting you bring that up.
I might not be using it in the office but I will once again be the first off the chopper wielding the flaming chainsaw of redemption, a role I did not play last year due to crew dynamics. How's the radio business going? I haven't been able to tune in recently.

Doing well thanx.
I"m trying something new on our 'retro show'. Radio-With-Pictures. I mock-up Motivational Posters to represent songs. How would you do at figuring these out, songtitle and artist. |

Couldn't you just get off the chopper with your WiFi equipped laptop computer and folding chair, and sit and observe the fire fight while typing reports about it?

Hawo peeps !
Guess who's not back ? Dropping by to say hello, still looking forward to getting my former life back, I have ten days of unemployment ahead of me... Bliss. Have you taken a peak at the country election thread ? There is a real cultural clash between the French and the ultra liberal Americans (for once Billy remains silent). It seems that the French side has given up trying to argue. Entertaining conversation indeed. In other news I just finished building my 10 foot/3meter long computer desk, it's pretty slick. It's actually totally kick arse. Today I'm going to cover the Hollande inauguration ceremony, it's gonna be a long day. |

Will it really be the mayor of MY hometown who's gonna be prime minister?

Don't forget maestro ! I'm kind of surprised you don't get involved. It would be nice to hear from a more democrat Yankee to balance their POV.
