People either do not check the forums (often) or do not think this is actually serious. That is my guess.

I would get 2 : one for my current 36" and one for my next project!
But would also be interested in carrying them at our shop if it makes sense financially

Just to say... yes I am listening and noting.

I also know about the project and it constraints. I really hope we can get this to happen.

Roger,

What about the Nightrider lightweight evolution that was under testing during 2010 Monguni unitour ?

Cheers.

Count me in for one- maybe a second once we get some more details.

I'd prefer an off-road type of tread.

Two reasons:
1. I've been running the Nightrider with the Foss tube and 100mm cranks. Honestly, with this setup I don't feel the need for a lighter road tire for an ungeared uni as much as a better tire for 36 off-road riding (with longer cranks of course) where quick acceleration is needed more than on the road.

2. Once things get a bit slippery the Nightrider lets me down. Literally. Wet leaves and a bit of mud send me to the ground in a hurry. I'd like a tread that stands a better chance at slop around here that we have for 6+ months of the year. I'd love to Cyclocross race the 36, but it's not feasible around here during the rainy season.

Oh yeah. I didn't post this on the MTBR as well. I was unsure as this thread progressed whether we are supposed to do both or not.

It is still under discussion with the manufacturer, he is resisting the change by not guaranteeing the change. He is saying that it is unstable with that beading in it and it needs to have the higher TPI to cope with the higher pressure. If we went for the low pressure like the TA and Coker then we can probably drop 100g... but most people don't want that.

So for the moment I have the only sample. :-P

100g is nothing anyway - we need to drop 1000g!

Any idea how much it will cost to bring these beasts to Germany (shipping + customs + ...)? From where will they being shipped? US? So far there are a few orders from Germany. So you could make one big shipment out of it. Then one of the Germans needs to distribute.

On the other hand, I am quite happy with my Nimbus Nightrider ...

I am not yet sure if I want to order one. But I will be in the US at latest early 2012, maybe earlier. So I can take some tires to Germany (depending on my luggage allowance). I may bring goods valued 430 Euros (currently US$ 591) to Germany without paying customs and German taxes. So up to 6 tires are custom free (provided I don't go shopping). If exceeding that amount I need to pay customs and taxes for everything.
