I was told Muni was dead, so I guess Vancouver must be heaven because it sure rains too much to be hell.

There's public transit from the airport and to the trail heads so if you don't have or can't rent a car don't worry about that. Plus I'm sure car-pools can be aranged as needed.

What part is the 10% you're leaving behind?

I'm 100% there, flying in. I can't wait to ride with everybody, never been out West. I'm gonna try and arrive a day or two early and explore downtown. Transit/carpooling to get around will be fine, the airport is fairly close to the hostel.

Anyone doing a pre- or post- weekend sightseeing trip in the area? I'm thinking about arriving a day or two early to explore the area... I'll have a rental car to get around in.

I'm assuming that's tongue-in-cheek Catboy.

As far as coolness, California isn't fit to lick Canada's Vibram boot soles. Especially British Columbia & Alberta. Those provinces are jaw-droppingly beautiful, less smog, better public transpo, way more aurora boreali, and national health-care.

Oh, and Roland, there's no way I can make it to this.

OK, but we keep our snow and rain and cold where it belongs up in the mountains, I don't trust air I can't see, I wouldn't ride on a bus with the likes of me on it, we might have aurora boreali we just can't see it through the smog and health is way over rated.
