That's about the ideal crown style, IMO. Maybe add some knurling around the top edges and it will be perfect.
So what's the bottom line for a 29-er, out the door? |

I encouraged David, the owner of Pride, to post here, but I see he hasn't yet, so if you need more info I'd send him an email to start things rolling.
He originally told me it would be $750 for a Ti Frame 24/26". If he can figure ouit how to make bearing holder faster, that price could drop some. He only builds frames, the rest of the uni is up to you. Sorry about the blurry pics, it's the only camera I have; no money left after all the gear purchases ![]() BTW, it rides awesome, truly the best riding frame material I have ever experienced and I have ridden Nimbus Steel, KH aluminum, but Ti has them beat hands downfor ride quality. The crown design I have is just right, no knee banging, clearance for a Gazz 3", but not too wide. |

Nice frame!
As far as bearing holders go, I'm liking those on the Surly Conundrum (RIP). I've warmed up to them. At first it seemed like my frame wasn't going to fit the wheel properly as the frame needed to be spread just slightly to get the hub into it. The bearing holders hold snugly on the outside and push inwards with a bit of frame flex. There is no 2 sided channel like the KH holders. That's probably not a good idea with aluminum, but with cro-mo steel and ti might be a viable option. On the plus side, they seem to let the wheel spin like mad even when tightened properly. On the minus, I'm not sure if they're Schlumpf compatible. |
