Of course "left and right" are relative. What you lot call "liberal left" is what we tend to think of as very conservative. What we think of as hard right, you lot think of as "commies".

But that said, Conservatives try to legislate for how they think morals ought to remain; and liberals sometimes try to legislate for how they think morals ought to become.

I think morals should be promoted by example, not legislated for.
