Now you mention that, it does seem familiar. Did I make that to? nevermind.

I sail in the Saint Lawrence River and can get some good air jumping off the tour boat wakes. I don't do a lot of tricks. I just like to go fast so I only go out on the windy days.

I used to sail quite a bit. I learned on inland midwest lakes racing Interlakes, Lightnings, Highlanders and Thistles as crew. Then I moved to Virginia and bought a Boston Whaler Harpoon 5.2 (17ft.) I sailed and handicap raced that all over Virginia, North Carolina, and in the Potomac and Cheapeake. I borrowed a Hobie 16 and raced it in several races, including off Virginia Beach right at the mouth of the Cheapeake. That was weird only seeing the tops of sails of boats in the next ocean trough.

Moved to suburban Cleveland, and the Harpoon has been a lawn ornament ever since...

I went wind surfing last week. Man! I was bad. Out of practice. I've only gone a hand full of times in the last 5 years. We had a south swell, but I didn't even make it out to the waves. I just stayed on the inside.

Harness lines crooked, the boom was too high, I was too rusty, wind was inconsistant, recovering from knee injury. Those are all my excuses.

I will try again. I have rode waves bigger than my mast. But Kite surfing took over around Y2K and wind surfing took a back seat. Behind unicycling too.

Keep playing in the water!
