Lightbulb Trials Unicycle Tire Research [Please answer the pool]

Hello!

I'm currently working in a partnership with a tire company, and we're interested in hearing some feedback about the currently tires marketing, quality and any tips or suggestions from different riders.

We aren't planning to release anything yet. The unicycling marketing stills to small for an investment like this, but we may be able to release an improved Trials tire that works BETTER than the currently models. Our main idea would be covering both markets: Bike Trials (that stills represent a bigger marketing) and Unicycling.

Please, give me some feedback about the currently models, stuff you would like to see, things that could be changed and how much would you pay for a Trials tire!

Thanks a lot, and I hope to bring some news about this project soon!

Take the Try all sticky, and *try* to make it better. It is by far the best performing tire on the market right now as far as trials tires go. From what I can tell unicycle marketing is pretty much forum or website based. No real advertisements other than what you see on the web and if you go to a comp

I was going to do something similiar like this with Ti frames but like you said investing a large amount of money into such a small market like this just isn't really worth it. Unless of course you can net money from another source (such as the slightly larger bike trials industry) and still profit somehow

Good luck my friend

Thanks for the fast response!

Yeah, definitely the unicycling market is to small. Bike Trials isn't THAT representative in numbers.

I'm a Try-All user ! I love it, I just don't like that it doesn't last longer... I already gave a Try-All as sample for the company past week. I'm waiting a report about it...

Thanks again!

I think that what unicyclists need is a nice smoothish 19" tire with more of a BMX style tread. I would probably get one once my shaved Luna is worn out if it was available. Problem is I don't think that there would be much market in the bike world unless BMXers that go really big would adopt the 19" size for their bikes.

As far as current 19" tires avaliable I have used the Luna, CC and MEC. Of those three I like the MEC the best.

I like the try-all, and I mainly got it because it's white. I realize that a colored tire would probably be not practical for the tires you're thinging of producing, but something other than plain old black is awesomeness imo.

I would never pay over $50 US for a tire.

If it's anywhere near the quality of the try-all, I think it'd be awesome.

I'm riding a really worn white try-all. I'll most likely buy a black try-all next. Its the best tire I've ridden. I like the CC, it has pretty good grip, but the sidewalls are just tooo thin, something with better sidewalls and maybe last longer kinda like the MEC would be really good. I wonder why there aren't more tread patterns though. It seems all there is the blocky pattern and try-all pattern. (eh just some thoughts to put out there).

atm im on a black try-all sticky but its totally worn. i did once hav a creepy crawler but i liked the try-all better. my only complaint with the try-all is that it was a TOTAL BITCH to get off for the first 6 months or so.

i was planning on buying an eagle claw tyre really soon because apparently it has really good bounce but after reading that everyone seems to prefer the try-all sticky, im not sure which i should go for.

Try-All White Sticky are decent. It's just too bad US distributors can't seem to sell the white Try-All.

Renagade Juggling...

I'm riding the Echo Supa because it is cheap. Little rolling resistance which I like for rolling trials/street.

i think a bmx style tire would be really cool also. you could do a kevlar bead so its realy light. i think bike guys that ride more urban might even use those if they are light.

personaly i like the try all for street stuff, but the cc is alot better on natural trials/skinnies.

The try-all sucks for trials IMO.I ride eagleclaw and its 10x better than a tryall will ever be.eagleclaw is lighter and has thicker sidewalls meaning it doesnt fold as much

Atm I'm using a Try-all, but soon I gonna have a new one.
I have heard that the MEC is the ultimate tire for unicycle trial it has thick sidewalls and a very good grip especialy for natural trial.

A tires maximum price for me is 50 EUR

and the maxxis tires aren't very good for trials, less bounce and grip then the monty..

Had a Tryall, then Maxxis, then MEC, then a TryAll again and will get a MEC after that one for sure.

IMO the best tire is the MEC (grip and bounce)
