YEEEEESSSSSS just got it tonight. sooo epic. its a 260 mm longneck at 600 grams. which is way heavier than the end product will be. this one is to test the structural integrity of the design. the only flaw is the width of the crown and legs but i hardly notice it. but i am making them switch to oval tube which we have talked about for a while. but that will save us a bunch of weight too =). unispins on this are rediculously easy. it feels nice and solid and i see what they mean when they say they dont think anyone will be able to break it. its a beast. the top of the crown is nice and grippy but i am going to have them lower it a little to minimize tire clearance....
well enough talking time for some PICS!!!! and another new product i can make if your interested for when you dont want to take a seat apart to fix the stifener plate. i call it an inside out stiffener |

THAT FRAME LOOKS AMAZING! cant wait for the finished product! the only thing which looks like it could use a bit of re-designing is the crown, to make it a bit more knee friendly. |

[QUOTE=Andrew Mell;1189533
the only thing which looks like it could use a bit of re-designing is the crown, to make it a bit more knee friendly.
ya way ahead of you. we have this design available for 36er frames and if you dont mind a bulky frame we can do a 20" for cheaper. i still need to test it more before we actually sell any however. but i am making a strong push towards oval tube which will solve everything i can see wrong with it and save weight at the same time. so im guesing most of you will wait for the oval tube which will be done in around a month. this is a long process.... unless someone points something out i dont think a change from circle to oval would mean anything for 36ers so this design is ready for those. |

looking foward to it.
![]() have you thought about reducing the fatness of the frame and adding some gussets XTP style to create a "slide" for your knees while maintaining some strenth. although i do not ride trials all the street i do doenst really use the crown in any way. so reducing sharp edges from my knees would be lovely ^__^ regardless it is good to see you pushing the boundaries. ya the oval tube will reduce the width of the crown drasticly plus there are a few alu pieces that we can loose and save more weight and width. while keeping the strength. the crown is basically hollow if you look at the pics of just the frame we put up a few days ago. were gunna keep it flat top so you can put your foot up if you want. also its verry well rounded off so no sharp edges =)

Wow! Great job Jarin. That carbon fiber looks so nice. It's too bad we won't be able to get the oval tubing for another month.
But good things come to those who wait. A couple questions. Will this frame be able to fit an eagle claw tire which is 20x2.6? Will you be able to use the kevlar reinforced tubing that was mentioned to make the cf stronger? What should the final weight be with the oval tubing when all is said and done? I'm hoping like 450g like you said before. Anyway I can't wait! Hope everything goes well with the frame.Edit:Oh, and what kind of price for a 20" longneck are we talking? we are trying to keep it around the XTP price. we dont know what kind of tubing we can get in the kevlar reinforced stuff or how it will affect weight or price so for now we are just going with strait carbon. if you crack a carbon tube we can easily repair it. i have to look into how much a repair would cost us and how durable the frame is but if its not much i would love to make repairs free. but i am going to have to see about that. its really hard to say what the final weight will be. it will be atleast as light as the black domina but a ton stronger. oh and i will look into fitting an eagle claw tire on it. right now there is 2 7/8 inch clearance between the legs.

That looks sweet, Jarin! Don't you just feel like bending it over a table and uhh... never mind
![]() How is the torsional flex in the seat tube? to me it looks like there would be some twisting in the crown. It will be interesting to see how it handles hits from the side on ledges and rocks etc. perhaps you could get some tubing specially manufactured with a beam running down it to hopefully prevent dents and cracks in the side of the tubes. ...__ / ..... \ |-----| <<----- Impact \ ___ / (sorry about the dodgy picture) Just my 2 cents. Have fun!

Ask me about the Ottawa unicyclists

Have you tried it with a KH hub yet? The spokes on the KH hubs come rediculously close to the frame and therefore don't fit in alot of custom frames. Have you tested the fit yet?
