The pair of us, Paul and I that is, decided to hit the woods this afternoon on
our first muni of the spring. In an attempt to shake off some of the winter unfitness and get the muni legs back in hill climbing order. Given time constraints and a desire to stay out of the muddy slime on the downs we went to the wood, Swinley Forest just south of Bracknell. Once again we got two unicyclists on one cycle permit ( smile sweetly and ask nicely, works wonders) and headed away from the busy patch near the car park. Being nosey we checked out the MTB races that were going on in one corner of the forest, not much to interest us except their use of the best area of single track thus denying us the chance to play on it today. We left them too it and went to find some more single track else where. And find some we did, interspersed by stretches of hard pack and not so hard pack, we had a fine amble around in the forest, on a bit signposted " nature trail" we saw some nature ( 2 x Deer crossed our path and remained in view for some minutes darting away through the trees.) Whilst on the "Heritage trail" we happened across an Iron age Hill fort and some elderly ramblers. Finaly heading back to the car we reflected on the way spring is sprunging, still light at quarter to five! sumer is a-cummin in. sarah |

Re: Summer is a coming in
Geez, and I was beginning to complain because it's getting dark in Canberra at
8:30pm instead of 9 nowadays.
