What about the thousands of Iraqi civilians that the allied troops have killed since their arrival in Iraq, when will they receive justice?

Hmmm, I'm sure some would debate the legitmacy of this "Iraqi" court, I however will not, I just wouldn't be so set in your ways.

I don't think anyone should be celebrating what has happened, personally, I think of what is still going on in Iraq, just this morning a car bomb killed 34 people in a Shi'ite town.

Bush, and esp. Cheney, Rummy, et al, rejoice!

With Saddam dies a key witness with knowledge incriminating them when they put Saddam into power and armed him.

The trial judge was inexperienced, and they rushed the execution before the Kurds could get any justice to see Hussein sentenced on genocide charges.

When the USA tried to delay the execution, the Iraqis added their usual trump card in sticky situations: they consulted the supreme religious body in Iraqi Shiism, composed of ayatollahs in the holy city of Najaf.

Starting to look like the USA took out the sectarian (non-religious) govt of Hussein, and installed a religious govt which is anti-Kurd and anti-Sunni. Looks like the USA gave Osama what he wanted....

Obviously, this thread is no longer about Saddam or his execution. All of this [except the last paragraph] was in today's NYTimes, a front page story.

When it's on the front page, it's easier to ignore.
