ipod nano vs. ipod shuffle...plz help

I havnt posted on the forums in ages and thats becouse its summer and i have a summer job and im making tons of money off my unicycle skills...im making nearly 200 dollars a week and im saving up for a vespa scoote (i know not a uni but i need faster transportation)...(this will all eventually reach the topic i promise) the job is a unicycling billboard and i have been gaing clients...and while working i have been using a cheap sport radio on an armband and nothing is worse than getting into the music rythm while unicycling and then a comercial....so i thought i need somthing else so i came to the coclusion i need an ipod and 1 gb(240songs) is plenty for me and i found on amazon a pretty good deal on both an ipod shuffle with a sport case lanyard thing that will protect the shuffle from damage/rain/ect...and an ipod nano with and armband thing...and the shuffle bundle is $124 and the nano is like $154 so theres not much money between the to and both prices are managble definatly its just i dont know wich one would be best for unicycling with cases/armbands aside....i need your help and if you have any experience wiht either product and how they are with unicycling please tell me

i appologize for my horrid grammar and lack of puncution and spelling im in sort of a hurry typing this thread

im always horrid when it comes to deciding between products to buy ...so it would be nice if you could give me the pros and cons of each reffering to unicycling with them

( i did a search on this and got nothing just so no one plays that card)

Get the nano. The shuffle, does that, just shuffles through your songs, so unless you like to always listen to a random song at all times, you can get the shuffle, as for me, I like to be able to choose the song and play that, so I would buy the nano.

You can put the shuffle on order mode too.

I would get the shuffle personally. Its a little smaller and there arent as many parts to break or screwup(like a screen). Plus when your riding you just want some pulse pounding music to get you going, so load up your shuffle with that and ride all day, you'll never hear the same song twice!

The nano is a much better product and if you are only paying a little bit more go nano. For what you want to do they will both do the same job but thats not the only time you are likely to use it. I have a shuffle (got for free in some kind of promotion) and its pretty basic. It has the basic playing functions and can play in order or shuffle them thats all. You can only find your songs through knowing them alphabetically which is sometimes annoying. Like I said go nano.

Where do you live? Is it highly populated? How much do you get paid and what do you do? Basically tell me about your job.

I'm gonna check out amazon for a nano for myself now.

Look into a Creative MuVo. A 1 GB MuVo will only set you back about $70 and its got more features than the Nano... you can listen to FM radio, record with the built-in mic or the line-in port, you get awesome battery life out of one AAA battery, and it'll also work as a memory stick!

You don't even have to load any software on your computer to interface with the MuVo, just plug it in and drag'n'drop, and you're set! The MuVo is super small (smaller than the nano), light, and comes with a protective rubber case and an armband. I've been riding with mine and have dropped it onto the cement repeatedly with no ill effects.

IMHO, Apple's iPods are just overblown fashion accessories. They're overpriced, underbuilt, then marketed to zombie consumers. Sure, the thumbwheel is nifty, but other than that, they're nothing special...

So how come they far outsell all the other kinds put together? Oh yeah. They're easy to use! Drag & drop works great for people who like to organize their media files manually, but if you have tons of them and want an interface that makes it easy to deal with them, iTunes works pretty well.

Based on the prices you qouted above, the choice seems pretty obvious. The Nano is a lot more player for only a little more money. The only downsides are that it might be a little more scratch & break-prone, and it's a tiny bit bigger. But they're both very small. Plus the Nano has the best sound quality of all iPod models (not that this should matter in your work environment).

Plus you can still play the Nano in shuffle mode. That's what I do with my regular iPod most of the time in the car. I created a playlist called All Regular Songs, that includes almost everything, but filters out a few things that I usually don't need to hear.
