favorite media player

With the increased popularity of playing multimedia files on computers i thought it would be interesting to see what everyone's favorite media player is.

iTunes

I have a whole house stereo system. Pairs of speakers in 8 rooms including the bathroom all individually controlled. I've been ripping all of my CD's onto my hard drive. Today I connected my computer up to the stereo turned on iTunes selected random play and got to hear some tunes that I haven't heard in years. I have about 400 CD's on there.

I chose iTunes because I'm planning on getting an Ipod soon.

For MP3 type music I mostly use foobar2000 because it can play MP3 playlists with no gap between tracks and it does it very well. I also use Quintessential Player at times, but it does not do as good of a job of gapless playback but has a few features that are handy at times (playlist editing and such).

For video I mostly use Windows Media Player cause it mostly just works. For streaming audio or video I mostly use Windows Media Player except for the Real Media and other formats that WMP doesn't handle.

For DVDs I use Nero cause that's what came with the DVD player. I used to have Power DVD also installed but I decided that I don't need two DVD players installed so I removed it.

For mp3's, I use musicmatch jukebox. It's my favoritest.
For videos, I use Windows Media Player.

I'm with nick on this. I dual-boot slackware and winXPpro, so when I'm running slack I use xmms and mplayer, but when I'm running windows I use foobar and vlc.

I had XMMS for a while and all I can say about it is "meh."

I always thought MPlayer was the greatest thing ever in Linux.

However, in Windows, I like Winamp.

iTunes beacuse my iPod likes it and i like it. It´s the only music playing program I have used that really makes sence. whit iTunes it´s so easy to change between the songs you want to listen to, and the playlist are also easy to understand, unlike wmp.

I think it would be a coin toss between Winamp or Windows media player for me. They're both good in their unique way.
