I personally do like my 26 over my 29, but I've never tried a 24. I got tired of pushing the 29 wheel size up hills, and wanted something that'd handle climbing better as well as more technical trails.

If you want speed, the 29er is definitely faster down hill than my 26 is, but when climbing it's sixes as to which is slower. If you have a 24, than you've probably already got your bases covered when it comes to tech muni and climbing.

Quality wise, they are both pretty much the same muni. I like steel frames, the D2 rim, and Nimbus hubs. I have literally thrown my muni's down the mountain during upd's.

The 29er wheel size is great for XC riding, but most of my trails aren't flat enough for that, which was part of my decision.

I do have a 29er for road that cannot be beat though.
