Tirving,
I'll be in Portland the 2nd week of Feb. I have two complete unicycles that I can dismantle for parts. Are there any parts you need to complete another one of yours?
Yeah, I suspect the best solution is to come up with your own cranks
I have 2 spacers between the rotor and crank spider and am running the 6mm crank spacers. I may just grind the crank a bit, it really is only about a mm that's rubbing.
ok, we have 1mm spacers for the rotor, are you seeking 1mm spacers for the crank? I think you said you were using 6mm crank spacers right? if you just got the rotor not to rub and you move the crank out further, then you'll have to readjust the caliper to rub on the crank again. How many 1mm spacers do you have between the crank and rotor... if the caliper is that close to the crank, I'm assuming none. The rotor may have been beat during shipping, but I suspect the crank spider wasn't intended for disc tolerances, and the rotor may be adjusted to true with one more or less spacer on each finger of the spider. We have even encountered some chain ring holes on the spider that were off center from the spindle and deviated the rotor up/down. I think the ultimate solution will be a MountainUni Crank arm... Prototyping soon!
Oh sorry. I just saw this message. As I mentioned on the Trading Post, I'm not yet giving up on the geared hub. I'm pretty slow to new things. Took me more than two seasons of snowboarding every weekend to learn that skill. I've had my Schlumpf for about 9 months and I have just started liking it. I'm really hoping it's a keeper. If not I will let you know. If so, my husband will cry when I tell him I want another one for my 29er.
