Hello! I got 3 Trials wheelset, and I though I could get rid of one so I can get some money. But, depending on the price I might get I will decide if i'm selling it or not. Anyway, I used it for a little over a year, and it's been collecting dust for over a year also, so all the parts are a least 2 years old but still in good condition. So, it's a Koxx-one Devil wheel, Reinforced ISIS hub, Black Try-all light rim with eyelets and silver Koxx-one spokes(drawed black is a marker). It DOESN'T come with Tire, tube, rim tape, pedals and cranks(I could sell them with if you want them but they are a little bent). Anyway, here it is, if you have any question or if you are interested PM me or email me at jaco_flans@hotmail.com. Make me an offer:)

It's a little rusty now but I'll clean it.

I took off all the decals and the dog did chewed up the saddle a tiny bit. So I fixed it and it now sports a leather seat cover. I'll take $230 shipped within the US.

When I got my 2009 KH24, it did not come with the brake mount under the seat. I thought it was supposed to. Anyway I ordered one and received it yesterday. It is not what is pictured on the catalog. I feel bothered by this and I'm hoping that you will chime in and tell me this is correct and not to worry about it. Here is a picture of what I got. I'm sure it will work without a problem. I just don't like getting something when it's not pictured as the same thing. I don't suppose two holes will be a problem since the brake mount doesn't take much in the way of abuse. Am I being silly?

I was spinning the wheel on my unicycle today and noticed the wheel wasn't spinning well.

The last time I rode it was 3 days ago in the snow, could the bearings be rusted? I have a friend who longboards and his bearings were rusted.

If so, should I leave them in till the snow goes away for good in the spring, or would replacing them ASAP be better? As far as the feel when riding I don't care whether I replace them now or later but if it's doing damage I'd switch them out.

Thanks

Also running 150mm cranks. Faster than a 24 and tougher than a 29. So far so good. I was wondering what other set ups people are running. Tires, crank length, and so on. Thanks.

I'm really wanting to learn to ride. But I'm not sure what unicycle I should get. It's going to be a Christmas present, and can't be to expansive. Probably no more then $150, hopefully a little less.
I'm not sure what all I'll be using it for. But I do live out in the country so it's gonna be kinda rough terrain. Gravel, and hard somewhat bumpy dirt. Along with pavement. And concert when I go off to collage in a few years.
I would like to do some tricks, but I was thinking probably a 24, maybe a 20.
I'm about 5" 7.
I don't think theirs anywhere for me to buy a unicycle around where I live. So I'm probably going to get it online.
Heres 3 that I've found. Are any of them a good choice? Or does anyone know of a better choice for me? Thanks for any help XD

I thought it might be interesting to start a thread on what people are reading: what are you reading, what do you think of it, and why? I spend at...

I thought it might be interesting to start a thread on what people are reading: what are you reading, what do you think of it, and why? I spend at least two hours per day reading for pleasure, and am always interested in what other people are reading and what they recommend. I'm not sure there is any such thing as unicycling literature, but if there is - let's hear about it.

I will start the ball rolling.

Right now, I am about four pages into Cormac McCarthy's "Suttree". I had never read any of his work until I saw the movie "No Country for Old Men", which I really enjoyed, both as a portrait of a psychopath, and a comment upon the difficulty in distinguishing between opportunistic and irresponsible (but well meaning) behaviour and psychopathy. I read the book, and found it to be an equally enjoyable exploration of the same themes. I was fascinated by how closely the dialogue in the book matched the screenplay, as that is (in my experience) very unusual.

Once I find an author interesting, I tend to read a lot of their work. I subsequently read most of what I could get of McCarthy's work and was particularly impressed (more than impressed, breathless in the face of such literary virtuosity) by some of his - almost abstract - descriptive passages in particular, in "Blood Meridian".

I moved on and was reading other stuff, when I came across a review that mentioned some of his earlier work, and was particularly complementary about "Suttree", so when I saw it in a bookstore yesterday, I picked it up.
The first couple of pages have left me gasping for air: I could read them over and over. It is a brilliantly poetic descriptive passage describing a fisherman fishing from a skiff in the oily waters of an industrial estuary. (I think that's what it's about... I've only read the first few pages.) If this thread has legs, I will say more in the future.

So... What are you reading?

I like at 4:11 when Kris does a drop and John Childs is just shaking his head in disbelief :-)

But at 2:44 is my favorite technical bit for the entire weekend. Its a skinny raised log (or is it a stick?) that we've tried to do so many times. If you stand on it, it sags by about 6". I ran out of space/batteries just after getting that, but Kris did it a few more times until he had it down pat.

Can we make a list of definitions here or does one already exist?

I'll start a list to fill in.... off the top of my head. I think some of these are the same thing with different names, but that's the point of defining them. Because I don't know.
I gotta run... but here's the start of a list to be defined and added to:

muni -

freeride -

slopestyle -

flat -

flatland -

street -

freestyle -

trials -
