Voodoo Unicycles to host the UK Street and Trials Championships!
UK Unicycling events such as BUC are held entirely thanks to the hard work and dedication of Unicycling enthusiasts across the country, all who volunteer their own free time and often their own money, to provide an event for the whole community to enjoy. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, BUC 2011 was not to be, the British titles in all areas have not been defended and Unicyclists around the country have been left without an event to meet like minded people and socialise in what seems like a growing community within the country. The void created has cast a shadow across the UK, leaving many of us down hearted, demotivated and without hope, until now.
Voodoo Unicycles is the UK's only Extreme Unicycling display team but that's not all. Voodoo exists to spread the word about Street and Trials Unicycling but also to provide for the current Unicycling community. To create events that everyone, regardless of abilities, can be a part of and help encourage riders of all ages to come together and celebrate our participation in this unique sport. Thus, VUC was born from the collective mind of Team Voodoo, to give the British Street and Trials riders what they deserve.

VUC will be held on December 3rd and 4th at Dynamix Skate Park in Gateshead. VUC is predominantly a Street and Trials event with the UK Street and Trials Championships being held on Saturday in two seperate competitions. The Trials competition will work in the same way as it has done at previous BUC events and at international events around the world but Team Voodoo wanted to mix things up a little and in the interest of entertainment, we've created a new Street Tournament to determine the winner of the Street Championship.
Accommodation is available on the Friday (2nd) for anyone who wishes to travel up to avoid an early start on the Saturday although everyone who does arrive will be asked to help organise for the next day. The competitions will then start Saturday afternoon and in the evening we will hold Long Jump, High Jump and Best Trick competitions as well as providing entertainment and the biggest party UK Unicycling has ever seen, accommodation is also available for this night. There are no age or ability restrictions for competition entry, although under 12s must be accompanied by an adult. We want to encourage first time competitors to be a part of what is a landmark event in UK Unicycling, so please don't let nerves, age, height, unattractiveness or inexperience hold you back from having a great time. The party will likely go on until 1-2am and we welcome Unicyclists of all ages to party the night away. The drinking of alcohol is permitted (For over 18's) but drinking and riding is not.
On the 4th we will be holding workshops for non-riders, so please don't be put off if you can't ride a Unicycle already. We will also be holding Street and Trials workshops for any beginners, with the opportunity to learn from the newly crowned Street and Trials UK champions. The event will then end on Sunday evening
Tickets can be purchased on entry and will cost £30 for the weekend, this includes entry to all competitions and workshops as well as accommodation for the whole weekend, so make sure you get your monies worth! Spectators will pay a reduced fee on the door, yet to be confirmed. Drinks and food are available within Dynamix but there are also local restaurants and supermarkets where food and drink can be purchased.
Although Voodoo Unicycles are doing most of the work and have created this event, it can't happen without you and it will be a failure without the backing of ALL UK Unicyclists. Come along, pay your entrance fee, take part and have fun with your friends, it's that simple.
