New Tires?

I am new to the sport (20 hours max) and have a Torker CX that i picked up at a local bike shop. The problem is that I am 250lbs and the wheel is under a considerable amount of stress to the point where the rim almost touches when i ride. I have the stock tire inflated to the max at 45 psi. Is it possible to replace it with a stronger tire or should i just wait a while and invest in a better ride?

is the torker cx worth investing in or should i upgrade.

get a off road tyre, for example a duro wildlife leopard - 24x3.0
pump that up and you shouldn't have any problems :)

just make sure it will fit in your frame first
