What size Uni for Children

My daughter is keen to get a uni for her birthday. She's 10. Her brother, 8, has
a 16" and she can just about fit a 20" with a short seat post. I can't decide
whether to get her a 16 or 20....

Given that I can't track down a secondhand one anywhere I don't want to splash
out on one and have to replace it !

Anyone gone through a similar process or help me make a decision - after all
this is the one type of 'cycle she should have according to the vote
!

Tim, I recently (Nov. 98) bought a uni for my eight year old daughter. Unless
your daughter is unusually small for her age, get her a 20".

I know your delima. I ordered both sizes (16&20) from T. Miller, just to make
sure I had the right one on the morning of my daughter's birthday. Though I had
to cut down the seat post and a little off the top of the frame, the 20" is now
the perfect size for her- and will continue to be as she grows a little.

Fortunately, I was able to sell the 16" through this mailing list (thanks again,
J Drummond)
