I mentioned this before and never got a satisfactory answer...at the risk of
being a pain I'm going to bring it up again because I think it's important.
I've been checking in on the newsgroup "rec.sport.unicycling" off and on for the
past couple weeks and I'm quite sure now that this email list is NOT a mirror of
the USENET newsgroup.
Most messages that are posted to rec.sport.unicycling never show up on this
email list, and vice versa. At least, they don't for me. For example, in the
past few weeks there have been postings on the newsgroup about a Schwinn giraffe
for sale, a 24" Semcycle for sale, a comment from someone about how "boring" his
unicycling performances have been, and a question about whether anyone wears
cycling shoes while unicycling. Did anyone on this list see those postings?
Likewise, messages posted on this email list like the "how small is too small
wheel-wise", "cycling in NZ", and (sniff) my own magnum opus "Catch a Wheel"
didn't show up on the newsgroup.
However, there ARE some messages that seem to show up on both, like Tammy's
request for help on forming a juggling/unicycling club. Overall, the activity on
the newsgroup seems to be larger, and at times more interesting.
It's a shame that subscribers to one group are missing information from the
other. I'm no techie, so I have no answer for this...I'll just keep checking in
on the newsgroup. But, isn't there someone out there that could look into this
or at least explain it, or tell me who to contact that could help?
