My 11 year old was riding his uni home from school, under a mile. I require him
to wear his bike helmet. He fell, his backpack pulled him over somehow such that
he hit his head on a rock. No injury, but his helmet got a tear in the plastic
shell and a gouge in the styrofoam the size of a fifty cent piece.

Good thing he was wearing his helmet. Other wise he would probably be in the
hospital, out cold, and have a big hole in his head.
