Travel Giraffes (or Standards?)

A coworker showed me his new custom bike frame. Two of the frams members
incorporate "BTC"s from S and S Machine, which allow the frame to be
easily disassembled for travel. Has anyone considered building a travel
giraffe (or even a standard?) using this technology?
