The latest issue of the On One Wheel Magazine is now finished has been in the
mail for week

The feature article for this issue is Jan Layne and the Wood One Wheelers. Jan
Layne has been a force in unicycling for over 25 years. The article talks about
how she started with unicycling and how she has made the Wood One Wheelers
unicycle club a success story.

International Memberships to USA I will be at the 9th International Unicycle
Convention (Unicon IX) in Bottrop, Germany. If anybody would like to renew their
USA membership or become a member of the USA I will be accepting USA memberships
in the following currencies: Deutsch Mark, Swiss Franc, Italian Lira, UK Pounds
and US Dollars. This may be a good time to pay for a couple years in advance
rather then go through the hassle of sending a check to the USA in US dollars.

Thanks Andy for the latest issue which arrived in my HK GPO Box yesterday. I
second Jack's motion for "Gret a Work a" (Italian?)

I too was surprised to see the JF article about my Eagles and VERY IMPRESSED
with its content!

It's been a long, long, long, long frustrating and lonely road here in HK since
1988 trying to get UNI wheels rolling. I feel for all the writers / riders who
send in pleas for instruction / riding assistance to the E-Mail forum. I can
attest that having an "Expert" and a video camera in the Gym for a week can
replace multiple years of struggling on one's own. I had indeed as John said,
"run out of skills" to teach my hungry boys!

Not only in riding skills, but more importantly in motivation has John lofted my
"Eagles" higher. It was his visit which made them feel that they're ready to
move from a remote outlying Island in HK to an international convention. I
recommend that all lonely, frustrated, bruised riders out there attend a
regional, national, or international UNI meet whereever ASAP. And then, write an
article to Andy / USA about your experience. It will do wonders for you too to
meet others who share your scuffed riding shoes, and then to see your success
story in print!

If our Visas get through, you'll see all those "Gliding Eagles" in Bottrup. This
will be icing on the cake for me having tried to organize this sport in HK for
so long!!! No matter how many times you fall, get right back on .......... and
ride uphill! Nice to know that uphill M-UNI is now coming "en vogue" and viewed
as "FUN" ;-) !

Thanks again John for the visit and article, Andy for publishing the great
newsletter, and Jack (UNI VATER) for your support over the last lonely decade!
