View Full Version : New To The Site
Hello,
I'm in the Metro Detroit area of Michigan, I was in a parade with my mountain bike and there was a group of Unicycles next to us who convinced a buddy and I to take a Beginner class. Long story short, I now own a Uni, I have no problems riding it in the gym we practiced in during the winter. I'm still learning on pavement it's a huge difference from a gym floor, the thing just grips. I'm also still learning how to mount the thing without assistance. But I figure it's good for your core to ride one. Anyways just wanted to say hello and glad to find such a site, I figure the more I look around the more tips I will learn.

Definately good for your core! I gained about 15 or 20 pounds from just unicycling. I remember when i first started really extending on jumps, man my core burned! Welcome to the forums! Hope you enjoy your stay!
Have a Muni (http://www.unicycle.com/unicycles/rough-terrain) yet? Also check out this video! (http://www.unicyclist.com/forums/showthread.php?t=83412) A guy on that page (plthrouth) has a lot of good muni videos as well! Being a mountain biker i think you would like Muni.
Long story short, I now own a Uni
That's one more of us, one less of them.
Most of the initial problems you will encounter can be overcome by simple practise, but if you're not sure, do post your questions here.
There's a whole bunch of us who'll be happy to help out with suggestions, hints and allegations.
I'm Dave, I'm a radio presenter from South Africa, and I occasionally ride a unicycle.

I may one day be a hobo, but certainly not a firefighter. Actually I just want to give away all my money pretty much, I'll probably still have a home (not a very big one and probably there will be people besides me there).
Right now I suffer through school and wonder why I still put up with it.
