I CAN TYPE ALL CAPS.

And they display if there's lower case too.

Preliminary conclusion from test:
Messages consisting of ONLY CAPS are converted to lower case (although a leading capital character is retained). If there's even a single lower case character in the message, conversion does not take place.

Now the question is: does the forum software do this, or my IE7 browser?

It was your browser - or not. This reply was typed on firefox 3.5.8

(Reply was typed in all caps - but the forum seems to have 'fixed' them.)

Thanks. That's an indication it was NOT my browser.

I just went to a totally different forum (the Dutch unicycle forum, not on unicyclist.com) and typed an all CAPS message in their test corner. Of course again in IE7. And guess what. CAPS just stayed CAPS. So I think I can conclude that it's this forum's software that does the conversion, not my browser.
