Piano composition

Here's a short piano composition I wrote a while back. I just used random pictures over the music. This is one of 20 pieces I had recorded onto a cd. :)

A peaceful piece. :)Thanks. I can't play a single one of my compositions! Well, I could if I practiced long enough, but there is a contrapuntal aspect to most of the pieces, and that's what makes them complicated to play. In many of the pieces, there are counter melodies going on simultaneously, so writing the music, one "voice" and one bar at a time, is a lot easier than putting them all together in a performance!

I had to have them played and recorded by a concert pianist, Maria Demina. Unfortunately, she used too much rubato and certain phrasings weren't quite right, on many of the pieces. I tried to communicate to her how they should be played, but in the end, a good deal of it was her interpretation. Overall, I think she did a pretty decent recording. :)
