Anyone else here see Taken (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0936501/)?
What a desperate piece of film making. Passionless, compassionless, and utterly devoid of sympathy. From the maker of The Professional, a film that is as filled with emotion, pathos, and touching humor as it is violent, I would have expected more.
I am the parent of a 15 year old girl and I completely understand the portrayal of a father's desire to atone for past mistakes. But this film does it with such a lack of heart, such a loud aching bellow that it loses any sense of hopefulness or promise.
Even the happy ending had the feel of empty unfulfilled yearning.
