So I thought it would be a cool comp.
anybody is welcome to make a submission. One per person but you're totally welcome to include other riders in your film.
The deadline is May 15th. Just hit me a link to your video when you've uploaded it so I can post a link when people vote on it.

I think the vid should be judged for the creative-ness of the shots and editing as well as the riding.
The best vid won't neccesarily be the most technical, but the most well made and entertaining.

Nice! getting back in to Muni and north shore riding awesome. cant wait to see your videos. i ll be out making some when all the snow melts on the trails up here.

We did get up to Fromme this weekend, but Justin wussed out... something about not having his new KH24 yet.
So it was Neal, AnSo and I on "Ladies Only", which was as high as we could go before being overrun with snow. It was Neal's first muni ride and he did really well... he got a 24 for xmas.

This coming weekend we've got 2 visitors coming to Vancouver to ride muni... one from Quebec and one from Prince George. So it should be a great weekend... except I can't make it :(
Hopefully someone brings a camera.

I really want to drive to South Mountain but it's that time of year and too HOT! I could still go and just ride either really early am, or late in the day. But I have three cool MUni venues in mind that are all within an hour's drive. :D

Hi all,

I'm new new to this community and also to Muni (have my 24" KH for one week now), nevertheless I will submit a video for this comp soon. I think that will be the best way to introduce myself ;)

The thing is, I've made nearly 250 videos (161 on youtube, 30 or so on google, a few on vimeo and about 50 old ones on the forum gallery, under Muniaddict and terryBigWheel). And a high percentage of those are full-on MUni videos.

I always try to do something different each time as I don't want to repeat what I've done if I can help it. But after making so many, the main challenge isn't the actual riding, but keeping it fresh and interesting.

if the deadline was lengthened, it would help a lot. What I really need is to find some new trails, and if that means driving a few hundred miles to get to them, then so be it! :D

I'll have a crack if I can find a camera man in time. Since a lot of people seem to want more time, and no vids are posted yet, why not make it June 15th as suggested?

I'll try for May 15 anyhow but an extra month might see a really decent competition. I've got some good stuff to get in given time. Muni is ready for a comeback.

I just found a bunch of realy realy old footage of me riding when I took my 29er to some bomb holes. Could probably edit that and enter it, nothing to loose. Would like to ride and get some new footage but this will probably have to do for now.

Grr I went for a long muni ride the other day and took heaps of footage afterwards I went to get some lunch from the car (100m away) leaving my camera on a log came back and it was gone (oh well at least I get a new one instead of the brick I had) so now I dont have a video otherwise i would have entered.

Since the (extended) timing is good for me, and I ride mostly technical Muni, I figure I should throw my lot in. I'll see what I can work up this week on my humble camera and hopefully will provide something worthy of being beaten.:p

I just had the afternoon off so i thought i would go and film some stuff on my local trails. I knocked up a small vid and am uploading it to youtube at the moment- but my net is slow so it could take quite a while. I just used my little point and shoot digital camera so the quality is not real good but i hope you will enjoy it. Will post the link soon,

I like the short but just ever so slightly slow-mo'd shot at 0:50. And I liked the ending sequence which felt like a Pixar film or a video game 'game over' screen where your character just gives up. Cute and effective.

Overall a 24 outta 20!

I love the first song on Tom's video. So I googled it.

Tom, you should use a higher bitrate... about 100 MB would be right for this vid.
Some parts were too dark... which is kinda 'blair witch' spooky. But if you want them more visable, right click, video effects, brighten.
My favorite technical bit is the logs around 2:30.

Yea I think it was only about 35mb, it was originally 380 which looks really good but it would take forever to upload. I dont know really much about making videos so I just go with whatever. Thanks for the tips.:D
