I think that picture can be rated G. It can also be rated improperly sized.

E for Everyone sounds fair to me. No foul language or provocative themes or cartoon violence. Nicely done.

I like it, maybe a 7 or 8...the double vision letters are a tad annoying imo.

Very nice but....

1) You look a little washed out in the midtones
2) I don't like the double lettered name thing at the top
3) The shot itself is amazing

I am not a pro at editing but on a pro scale I might say 7, which is high
For an amateur I'd say 8 or 9

i'd give it a 9...if you had some huge air, it would be an 11:eek:

I love the picture. It's simply fantastic. :)
The one thing that I'm not all that keen on is the double letter font.

PatrickRuge

I wanted it to look washed out where I am. I added one greyscale midtones layer, and 2 overlaying high constrast layers on top of it.

Get rid of all the white space

Change the text to just your name typed normally. The extra letters don't look good and cause it to be confusing and hard to read. Keep the same colours and everything.

The picture is awesome. Don't change anything else.

Better?

nice few suggestions: center the text on the picture, maybe all caps, or lower case would give an even more balanced look imo

Edit: uniing looks fun btw

Better?Much. I really like the new lettering. Also, I love the panoramic aspect ratio, but... are you sure you should be cutting off your arm? It's almost like you are reaching up and grabbing the top of the picture for balance. I think showing your full body (arm included) against that awesome scenery and sky will give it more impact (nothing but sky above and rock below and you on one wheel). If you've cropped the sides, then maybe you can put some of that back and add some sky -- that way you won't mess up the cool aspect ratio (you'll just get a little smaller, which might not look as good).

This is just my opinion, of course. I may look at it tomorrow and change my mind about what needs to be "fixed". It looks great the way it is, actually. I just wonder (if it's even possible) whether including your whole arm and hand would be an improvement.

Lastly, regarding oneisenough's suggestions, I think the lettering looks fantastic the way it is. Mixed case looks best to me. I'm torn between whether it should be centered or left the way it is. I'm leaning toward leaving it the way it is. I don't think it should be spaced out more so it goes all the way across.

Id just take the text and move it about .6 inches to the right, and if the original picture allows for it, or if you want some good practice, add the rest of your arm in then only about 20 pixels of sky above that. The ratio wont be messed up and youll still have the wide picture and all.

But even as it is now, it looks fine.

Now just use Genuine Fractals, or Blow Up 2, resize it to billboard size and then rob a bank, use that money to pay for printing it out in billboard size, hire a crew and paste them all over town. Maybe edit your name off before doing that though. Or leave it on and be famous. In Jail. But Famous.

I rate it pretty darn cool. A reminder to me to do more with my pictures than I currently do. Make more prints, more artistic renditions, panoramas, variations, etc.

Comments:

Yes, the ceiling is too low; looks like you're going to bang your head on the top of the picture. Those picture dimensions would be perfect if you weren't in the picture, but with you there it needs some more headroom.
For landscape shots, it is essential to get the horizon straight
The grunge effect looks cool, though in a place like that the natural colors of the area are maybe better than their muted versions
It might look better if we could see your face (I guess that depends on the face) :)
I think the text would look better centered. The original treatment you had would probably have worked fine at larger sizes, but you have to do different things depending on the output size. And if the shadows were much lighter. In your redone version I just think the letters are a little too spread out.
I'm pretty sure it's not legal to ride there (http://unicycling.smugmug.com/gallery/2644650#139742844_X8oPi). Don't get a ticket!
Are you going to be back in the area for the Muni Fest?

Okay, I don't have a long list of unicycle credentials, but I am a pretty good art teacher... meaning I know something about composition. The main thing that bothers me about your very imaginative picture is the chopped off arm and hand. I keep looking to see if the arm is supposed to be holding up something, like maybe the letters... but then there is no hand. I really wish the hand were there pointing up toward the letters you seem to want there. Very imaginative though.

1/10. Highlights and shadows are destroyed, also selective gray looks sloppy. Text is horribly hard to read, I didn't even try. 1 for cool location

He probably superimposed himself on the landscape using a digital software program called Adobe Photoshop. That's what he meant when he said, "I'm getting better at Photoshop." It's an every day word in the art and photography world. Photoshop is used for retouching photos, but it is also used to create all sorts of impossible looking images.

Still... one wonders what happened to the guy.

Photoshop is used for a wide variety of things, one of which is photo retouching and editing. The slang word you are looking for is shopped (photoshopped). All of my images get editing of some kind, because I shoot RAW images, which are naturally low in contrast, so you must adjust them. But even if these images make it to photoshop, I would never say they were shopped. When someone says an image is shopped it usually means they did some crazy or unrealisitic work on it in photoshop like composite.

Judging by the poor quality of the selective edits, I have to say that he did not composite an image of himself into this scene. If he did, then he is REALLY good at composites, and REALLY horrible at tonal adjustments. It just doesn't make sense. But I could be tricked, simply because the image is so destroyed, it is hard to tell.
