At the start of the new year, I will take a week, and everything I post in MR, I will create a new thread for instead. Lets see how bad people really hate MR.

MR! Sieg Heil!

Thus the time has come for the 2009 pointless thread competition.

RULES:
1) You must not copy old thread ideas, if anyone is familiar with a similar thread that has been posted you will be disqualified.

2) Your entry must not have been created before this competition.

3) The thread must actually be about something.

4) To avoid an excess of spam, only one entry per person.

5) Only the first 10 eligible entries will be considered.

6) This thread will not be considered for the competition.

Here were last year's trophies:

w00tni|iciou$n3s$Rof1iwins (YourThreadLinkHere)
w00tni|iciou$n3s$Rof1iwins (YourThreadLinkHere)

)-mostpointlessthread-/--O (YourThreadLinkHere)
)-mostpointlessthread-/--O (YourThreadLinkHere)

Again, we want to make the trophies as pointless as the entries. Feel free to make them more so. Yes, in the spirit of pointlessness the second trophy is a giraffe unicycle. Of course, they will have to have the point of displaying the winner of the competition, so, ummm......

Competition begins January 1st.

Aaaah, that was the first reply last year (http://www.unicyclist.com/forums/showthread.php?t=71172), too. Of course, that was only 5 months ago, but the 2010 competition will be held whenever I feel like it as well.:)

Wow. This is a thread that really screams, "cut off my empty head and pour Drano down my gaping throat." Oh, well, down hill is always easier.

I'd rather we dump all prior threads except MR, Funny Jokes, Funny Comics, Funny Pics, and Thread Killer.

Then work on the best threads of '09.

There's just too much competition for pointless threads to ever pick the most pointless; any fool can make those.

I've reported this thread to Gilby and urge all you who don't like the to do the same. This forum is already boring enough to read with all the inane threads there are. Don't need a competition which strives to outdo all of them and create even stupider ones. And Gilby always goes on about everyone being a moderator and using the "report bad post" button. Well, this whole thread is bad.

Then maybe we could have a "Golden thread award" or the "King of threads award". Why not recognize the best as well as the worst?

I'm just going with the times. I can't remember the last time I saw a really good thread on here.:p

At that point wouldn't it just be spamming him?
Why do you want to censor me, anyway? I was just making a point. That doesn't mean the competition isn't on, though ;)

BTW, anyone else who puts the word pointless in their first post will be sued for $1.

In my opinion, threads made specificaly for the purpose of being random as not really that random. I say we vote for the most random so far. I nominate the one about 'how many five year-olds can you take on' or something. It's old, but it was great.

You can't have a competition between thread titles (unless it's about *bad* titles; one of my peeves), there's nothing to compare them to. How about a competition among threads created during 2008 that are pointless? They would have a track record to prove their pointlessness!

I second this nomination
I can't believe noone has nominated it yet.
No one has nominated hardly anything.

I nominate the vending machine (http://www.unicyclist.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80067) thread, threadjack (http://www.unicyclist.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80061), and the thread about shoelaces (http://www.unicyclist.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79694) tied underneath unicycle seats.

I think that the entries should be pointless, yet awesome... or entirely inane, yet popular.
None of these semi-random "Daaaaavid Haaaaaaaaaaaaaassselhoffffff!" threads should be eligible.

I'll make an exception. The "Circle?" thread turned out to be awesome.

Some of the religious (http://www.unicyclist.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77528) threads deserve mention, too.

Theres only 1 'a' in hasselhoff, along with one 'f' in my spelling, and a period not an exclamation point.

Just a disclaimer, i do not make my threads for this competition, i make them for my own reasons.

I'm not entering spam. Yeesh. Otherwise, that guy who posted a bunch of dirty jokes (one thread per joke) would qualify.

I'm thinking more like this:

http://www.unicyclist.com/forums/showthread.php?t=81043

While the opening was not necessarily pointless (there was already an Addict thread, but whatever), the subsequent discussion....ah... yeah...
