Perhaps, though, upon rereading, you're waiting for the results of the DOJ investigation, although I'm not sure what they would have to say about earmarks. They are looking for election fraud.

There appears to be some nefarious dealings with the Woods Fund's contributions to ACORN, and also the contributions back to Obama....blah, blah, blah....

The most difficult part of tracking the earmarks, is the use of multiple comapnies within ACORN's organization.....there is no doubt there were earmarks sent to Brighton Park Neighborhood Council, Business and Professional People for the Public Interest (BPPPI), the Center for Neighborhood Technology, Centers for New Horizons, the Chicago Jobs Council, the Chicago Education Fund, the Chicago Institute on Urban Poverty, the Chicago Urban League, The Gamaliel Foundation....

I concede that I am not able to find the direct link to earmarks and ACORN, but I am certain they will be found, and I won't have to hang my head in shame....

I think that way about all politicians who have a track record of procuring earmarks (the polite way of saying stealing....)

...and yes, I am quite aware that Reagan was talking about the USSR and their "supposed" dismantling of their nuke programs during the START treaties.

Yes he is. Powell's only mistake was confusing loyalty with integrity, but I think now that he's freed from Bush, integrity will be easier for him.

I think it is up to all of us to hold politicians accountable, no matter their party. That's right. Even when you *did* vote for the candidate, there's a big difference between running a great campaign and being good at the office. All of the candidates had equal experience at the office of Commander In Chief so they have to start on Day 1, with us watching.

I am certain there are quite a few people in the higher circles of the US government who know where they are (but don't want to start a THIRD war with Syria....but I digress)

Biden is a very thoughtful and intelligent man, no doubt.

Most candidtates for office always seem to have the solutions for the problems, but don't share the solutions, and use it as a carrot to entice US to vote for them, so they can fix it for us, instead of doing the right thing, and offering the solutions as a part of their normal responsibilities as a US citizen, and in theis case, already elected as a Senator....but that is just my cynical take on them....

Yep....voicing my opinion on the unicycle forum is just for amusement....I am involved in REAL life!!!! It is important to get all our Reps and Senators to become more fiscally responsible with our money, and I am involved with Citizens Against Government Waste, and have written to every Congressman about signing on to Earmark Reform Pledge (http://councilfor.cagw.org/site/PageServer?pagename=CCAGW_getinv_Advocacy_2007Earmarkpledge_IssuePage)
