Report from a rookie

On Thursday and Friday of last week, I was reading this group to get some
examples for a book I am writing about the Net. I got so intrigued by the sport,
I went and bought a unicycle on Saturday.

I spent Saturday and Sunday falling on my butt. Fortunately, by living room
doesn't have to many breakables. :-)

Yesterday, I read the excellent FAQ, and following its advice, I was able to
ride out of my driveway, into the middle of the street and down to the end of
the block. My neighbors looked on in either awe or bewilderment.

It's great! And a great workout to boot.

This is exactly (more than) the kind of experience I was hoping that
rec.sport.unicycling would enable, when I was promoting the newsgroup through
the approval process.
