Ok, just wondering if there are any clever JC people could help me download this video:

As per this thread: http://www.unicyclist.com/forums/showthread.php?t=71642

I had no luck with Firefox 3 and downloadhelper....is there any other way of grabbing the video off the TV3 website? Or is someone able to do it for me and email me the file?

Cheers,

Ken

Saving Video and Audio files:

Because of the way audio and video files are streamed you cannot save them to your computer, unless specifically stated otherwise.

Here is Jerrick's file, I have to open it in VLC player to get it to play and the video looks choppy.

Is it really choppy? I watched it last night before uploading it and on realplayer it just would be choppy on a few parts.

Its mpegII so it should play in a lot players.

The movie could not be opened.
The file is not a movie file.

You should be able to get the original FLV file instead of converting it to an mpg.

Weird. The settings I set it at was 1000kbs video bitrate, 256kbs audio bitrate, MPEG-2 format. Runs on all my players just fine.

Ill try it again once I get home.

I tried just getting the FLV. Real player usually lets me rightclick and download any video I want, but im thinking cause this one streams, it doesnt work, cause I only end up with a .meta file thats a few kbs large. I also tried browser based plug-ins and those didnt work, nor did the sites where you load the url and let it download from there.

Right now im using WM Capture, so if any of you with a better a comp want to try it you can go for it. =p
