When I first got into unicycling, I was fascinated with the variety of riding styles and the different types of unicycles there were. This page was particularly captivating: http://www.unicycling.org/btdt/unique.html
I'd like to keep that spark of interest and wonder alive. In this thread, please feel free to post your photos, videos, and ideas about unique and different unicycle designs, or even just funny unicycle pictures. For example: my friend Dylan had an idea to make a unicycle lawn mower. Coincidentially, I found this posting on Craigslist and though it's not really a unicycle, it's still hillarious!

The post: "Looking for a more out of the box way to excersize? Be the coolest guy on your street cutting the lawn with this bad boy! You can save gas and get those rock hard abs you always wanted. This bike will cut your grass to emaculate conditions. It comes stock with this excentric two tone seat. The rust on the mower gives it an antique look that will have the cat lady next door going wild for your loins. For Ten extra dollars i can throw in a basket and headlight. Is your kid bouncing off the walls? I'll even throw in some training wheels so you can put that bastard to work. This model is a three speed so you can really tear it up. Do your neighbor kids have an annoying bike ramp in the streets all the time? Well snag that sucker and set it up infront of your trees, this bad mother will easily catch 6-7 feet of air allowing you to trim those troubling branches, as well as demolishing the ramp into oblivion so those damn kids wont be gathering infront of your house to practice for the x games. Comes with your choice of 12/40 oz beer holder that doubles as an ash tray."

Except...It's a girl's bike-mower.
Looks like a hard way to mow, those push mowers take some torque!
Maybe invent a Giraffe with push mower blades below where the wheel goes.
Make free mounting a lot more interesting.

So... this is a thread about unicycles? Then why isn't it in the Rec.Sport.Unicycling (http://www.unicyclist.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=3) forum?

That bike is actually a good invention over those sit down mowers. Unless of course you have a field for a backyard and it takes a long time to mow.

Is this a thread about unicycling?
I am not a moderator, but I really, really wish I was.
I have no life, you see, this forum is it.
I am a control freak. I constantly post to try and exert some sense of control on the only thing in my life that isn't falling apart.
I'm sorry I'm such an idiot,
pity me.

It's an impostor. You kids are so silly! Too bad you aren't very funny...
Maestro8, what happened to your cool posts on physics and engineering? Your debunking of stupid theories and attacks on gullibility, imbecility and general reluctance to think? All the posts I've seen by you lately are more or less toss.
Are you in the middle of an existential quandary?

Sadly, I depend on you guys to be my posting muses (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muse). There's been nothing but "toss" on the fora lately, so I haven't much to work with.
What can I do? Prod you guys to post better threads? Hah!

Interesting...who would want to buy this? I wish it showed someone riding it. The ebay page I got it from said it hasn't been produced since 1992...I can see why. You depend on guys to be your muses? I always imagined muses to be little pretty female creatures. And I'm not clicking on that link. I have a rule, you know: no wiki articles before breakfast.
Although, I agree with the forums being toss. I'll start a new thread I think.

So... this is a thread about unicycles? Then why isn't it in the Rec.Sport.Unicycling (http://www.unicyclist.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=3) forum?Don't worry. 24 posts later and hardly any unicycles have been posted. It's almost all tricycles and monocycles.
Don't get me wrong, monocycles are cool. So are mower-bikes, but the mower-bike and all those skatebikes are three-wheelers. Can't you guys count?

I'd like to see the crab unicyclelike bicycleThat was a crab-dicycle. I think it was put together as a training step toward riding the actual crab-unicycle. The finished product:

That's a "Magic Wheel" and theres videos on youtube where you can see people riding them. It is supposedly a trendy thing catching on in Europe. I had one but I just sold it on eBay...I'm a die hard BC wheel rider. This is just a "possible wheel," lol! Thanks for sharing!

Would this be classified as a unique unicycle?I would classify that as a bike minus a wheel. Far from unique but still pretty hard to ride.
Torsion bar unicycle (http://unicycling.smugmug.com/gallery/5313006_suRbB#324717215_NuRYM-A-LB):
I guess the idea behind it is to have a pair of unicycles that are connected by a torsion bar so they tend to balance each other. So I was able to ride it, on the grass, with my wife Jacquie who doesn't unicycle. Riding it is very odd, because the frame is "supported", though in a springy fashion. Also you're attached to the "other" unicycle so you either both go forward, or you rotate around the non-pedaling person, etc.

I think you should have called this thread UNIQUEcycles
