Hi fellow unicyclists! I've finally found you!

My ??: I just replaced my schwinn [:(] with a semcycle XL. It's only 5 months
new and I keep going through hell with the crank arms. After about 10 miles they
loosen up and start jiggling. ARGH!! I have to tighten them so often. I know
they're not on backwards, so what's going on? Do sems always do that?

Missing my schwinn. -Call me Squid.

Is that a cotterles crank uni? I had the same problem with my Mathews
cottered crank uni until I got ahold of the cotter press at the bike shop
that I worked at and got them as tight as possible using the press. Then I
put loktite all over the cotter nuts and tightened them down. It's held for a
long time since then.

If it's cotterless, I have no idea what to try.

I had the exact same problem with my semcycle XL. Except I'd only get about
1/4 mile each time! I took it to a bike shop and they put "locktite" on it and
it's worked fine ever since. They didn't pound the cranks down or anything
like that either -- just locktite and then screwed the bolts on with a
little tool.

I had the same problem. Nothing worked until I sent it back to the vendor, who
replaced the crank arms and put them on extra tight. I've had no trouble since.

[etc etc] I had one crank so bad that it fell off, while riding, this looked
cool as I stayed on, and for the next few weeks it did wanders for my other foot
one footed (it was all the one footed on my good foot that recked the crank I
think) I had it tightened a few times but it would work loose by the end of the
street! So I had it welded by a department in my university and I have had no
problems since.
