Ouch !!! now that had to be painfull. I guess it just goes to show what distance you have to go to get great footage.
Wow, Mr Tom. That's rather bad. You alreet?
If it makes you happy, I fell of a scooter this morning.

Oh bugger. Why does he hurt himself so?
And no, thankfully I'm fine, except for a couple of grazes and a few hyperextensions.
All the best to your recovery, Tom! I can send you a wish-well postcard if you want. PM me your address if you're interested.

You go huge.
No helmet though on a 12 set? Thats just stupid. So is attempting that right before unicon.
Looks bad, is this video new? Would be a shame if you cant ride at unicon.

That looked hard on your left ankle.
12 stairs is getting to the point that you need a sloped rollout.

12 stairs is getting to the point that you need a sloped rollout."getting to the point"? lol. Yeah that was insane but amazing he at least went for it! It looked like the wheel tacoed a bit on impact. And no helmet is crazy for sure. And I thought an 8 set was nuts..well for an old fart I guess it is haha!:p

If the stairs are 5", thats a 5 foot drop. You can do that to hard flat concrete without breaking the unicycle or yourself.
The horizontal motion should absorb a bit of impact if you sissor and roll out.
But usually for really big drops, its strongly advised to land on a slope.
Unfortunately, they dont make stairs like that.
Great attempt at the stairs, anyway. You totally cleared them.
I get nervious just rolling 12 stairs

Translation :
He had a triple fracture of the left foot and can't move for 4 weeks. Plus, he was supposed to go to the UniCon, but now can't.

Well I hope you fix soon, that looks painful, and without a helmet!

Well, at least you got footage of it.
But seriously, get well soon, and wear a helmet next time you go down a 12-set... if there is a next time.

Despite the fact a helmet doesn't stop him fracturing his foot in 4 places! :D

Well, yes. But I would hate for him to get brain damage next time he tries something that big. There isn't too much you can do to stop that kind of break from that high unless the ground had soft cushiony padding all over it.

Yeah just jumping down a set that high onto your feet without body rolling out would hurt like hell.
Huge.

Holy Shit! that was huge. I have so much respect for you to even try that, and that's really ballzy to do without a helmet. I agree that it was stupid to attempt it before Unicon though...

It was actually a good idea to do it before Unicon in that he would have bragging rights. Thats what i would of thought of...

this should be entered in that "craziest thing you've done on a unicycle" contest from "Just One Wheel". I bet you'd win.

That was a big 12 set! And you cleared it easy. Bad luck on the injury, but great attempt anyway.
Go for it again when you recover! You'll get it next time.

He was pretty unlucky to break his foot, I mean you wouldn't usually expect to break bones bailing down a 12 set. I s'pose it was the way his foot slipped off the pedal that did it. It looked nasty.

How often do you go down a 12 set?
Awesome clear, real shame about the foot though.

That was wierd. I was expecting him to jump alot higher, but he didn't and he still cleared the set.
Nasty landing though, hope you get better soon.

eh, I've jumped a 12 set of that size on foot ;)
lol. Doesn't hurt to bad even without rolling out. It does, however, depend on how you land.

for reals?
eh, this vid kinda makes me nervous to go hit another 12 now... but honestly... he was pretty sketchy in the air, if you look closely he is waving side to side as if he is trying to catch balance... but his foot slipped off the pedal, i messed up my ankle for 2 months (didn't feel right, and would not flex certain directions) almost the exact way he bailed... but mine was only a large drop.

Why was it done?
There really is no pride in jumping big sets. The biggest is a 13. So that wouldn't even beat the record. Right before Unicon too... Oh well I guess. I'd rather try a 18 set rail before any set jump over 10 stairs.

Speaking of which, did you ever get that local 18 set? You got real close in the beginning of your "the best of shaun J" vid. lol
I really appreciate the attempt at pushing the sport more, but quite frankly, its stupid to jump a set that big. It looked insanely steep, and if I ever thought I was good enough to jump that set in your vid, I still wouldn't do it, and I would do the smart thing and find a 12 set that wasn't that high.
I hope you aren't going to try to get this big in the future.

Sorry about your foot..
I hope you keep going this big
