Just had to share (I'm not proud, no, me? Never!) but my wife, Jamie, and I just increased our family by one! James Mikhail Wilson was born yesterday at 11:40am, and going strong. Jamie's doing fine, and now has a better idea of when she can start riding again (she's been jealous of me the last 9 months whenever I'd go riding ;))

I've already started keeping an eye out for a trike to convert to a uni when he's a bit older (you know, like 2 months old... What, too ambitious? :D)

congratulations, that is yet more proof that unicycles do not alter your abbility to have kids, despite what people think.

2 months is ambitious?? think he could be a pro rider by 5! start teaching him as soom as possible, because the younger you start the quicker you get it.

Nick-

What a delight. As all of your parent friends and acquaintances have already told you, your life is about to change drastically. For the better in my opinion. Your own children are a source of endless joy and entertainment. You have become a wealthy man.

Pics, please.

Twenty years from now James is going to look back at these photos and say "Dad, you coulda smiled."

I was running on 1.5 hours sleep (I had been sick the night before), was holding a newborn with one arm (my previous experience with babies has been my former life as one, and occasional proximity to them), and trying to take a picture with my other hand when the shutter button was on the wrong side... All things considered, I think it came out really well :D

Actually it was the day before... I didn't have my laptop with me so couldn't upload pics until today ;) Jamie was mildly annoyed 'cause Ben & Jerry's (who's main factory is but 30 min away) gives a free cone to mothers on mother's day, 2 if they're still expecting! Jamie got zero, 'cause she's still here until tomorrow.

Time to go, duty calls!

Someone said it before me. Your life will never be the same. It will definitely be for the better!

I've moved on to the next generation becoming a grandfather last September. My dad told me that if he had known how much fun grandchildren could be he'd have skipped our generation....

Congratulations and all the best to you!

welcome to the uni parents club. Your gonna take him to unicon and naucc right?
Have fun, get as much sleep as you can and please suport your partner with breastfeeding as long as possible. Its not always easy but it is the best start your boy can have.

Hi everyone, Jamie and I just wanted to say thanks for the encouragement and support :) I dunno if we'll be making any uni events soon... But we'll be bringing him to all that we can!
