I am somewhat interested as to who has the highest average daily post count. Mine is only 1.76 but I feel like I am more involved here everyday.
EDIT: because I'm not sure of the range that people will have, I am unsure that the poll's numbers cover a good range. I am judging by the one other person's average post count that I checked and thats Mornish who may not be the best candidate for average.

Mornish wasn't that good a person to choose. You should have looked at the top few posters. A lot of us post in MR a lot therefor are post counts go higher. In fact, I would be willing to bet that the top few post per day people hardly leave MR with their posts.
But anyways, I'm at 11.75, down from the days I used to post in MR more. I think I was just under 20 for awhile.
Either way, good thread topic.

Dang! Yeah i thought this might happen. Well, if anyone is way over my top option of 11, vote, then maybe post the exact number if you want.

Is there actually a way of finding it out or is everyone doing it on a calculator like i did?
I'm at 6.5 on average. I think I osted much more frequently when I first signed up and it has slower decreased over the last month or so.

Post count is about as useful a number as "EPA estimated fuel economy," which is always an artificially high number, created in what are not real-world conditions.
If you post a bunch of "Me too" messages, (like some brain-dead AOLer), should it really count as equal to someone who answers a question with a useful post?
It's like the guy who can press his gas pedal harder than me, and squeal his tires away from the traffic light. Sure, he'll win the race to the next red light and use more gas than the rest of us, but is he really more of a man?

Ok, but no one is saying that our post counts mean anything, and no one is saying that the people with higher post counts and a higher average will be the better man on the forums.
I dont get why that gets brought up in every post count thread. Its never been an issue.

The whole idea of this thread, in my opinion, is to have general light hearted chit-chat and not for it to get 'too deep'. Johnfoss, lighten up a bit. Thank you for your useful comments though. I do agree about the car thing, with the people who race ahead and you end up sitting next to them at the next set of traffic lights.

i left the forums for about 8 months and my daily post count did not drop below 5. It is now sitting comfortable on six 'useless' posts a day.
It raises the question: How accurate is this post counter?

1.67, a modest number. I read more than I post, that way I sound smarter.

I read more than I post outside Most Replys.... does that count?

Agreed, the average post count doesn't matter and is definitely skewed by MR and quick replies. I was simply more interested in a comparison to my 1.76 which even feels like a lot.
There seems to be, though, a parallel between the number of post counts and how much of an authority you are on unicycling. Although this is true for a number of the loyal, helpful, and educated authorities, it is not always the case.
Often new posters are treated as new to the sport when they could have, in reality, been riding and developing cutting edge unicycle designs since the 60's!

Yes. There is some sort of inverse proportionality.
