Vancouver's Kris Holm and world renown unicycle innovator Florian Schlumpf will attend the five-day Ride the Lobster international marathon relay event this June, race organizers learned Wednesday.
While Holm will not compete due to an injury, the RTL Racing Society will work with him to head some functions and make presentations to sports tourist audiences at selected events, Special Events coordinator Heather Leblanc said today.
Florian Schlumpf of Switzerland, owner of one of the world's largest unicycle manufacturing companies, is accompanying Mrs. Schlumpf to the event. Several European teams are using his latest technologies and this attracted his interest in RTL.
Ten teams are now registered for Ride the Lobster. Along with the Korean Dream Team are UK teams Goonies, Lost Wheelers, and The Old Peculiers.
From California are Yellow Line Fever, Yam Power and Totally Doable. Vermont's American Mojo, Toronto's Team Atlas and Team Venus round out the list of early registrants.
