Ok, so I know this is the third thread. The reason why is I have pretty much everything figured out now, and its time for some advance critique :). What do you think? Are there any problems I should know about? And finnaly, will the MX work well, is it much worse than the DX, will it hold up well, are there better (cheaper) rims. Thanks, please keep the chit chat in the thread related!
thanks dudes,
Jeremy

This (http://www.danscomp.com/427090.php?cat=PARTS) hub is lighter and cheaper.

That MX-22 rim is a pile of crap, but at a low price. It's singlewall and has ridiculously large sidewalls which makes it heavier than most double wall rims.

Spend a little more on a rim, opens you up to rims that are a lot stronger, and quite a bit lighter.

Borgchulze,
cool thanks. You are the first person to give me serious feedback on my design! is that hub as strong as the hazzard?

Any 14mm axel hub will work.

Everyone buys the Odyssey Hazard hub because Evan Byrne used it, so they automatically think they need that one?

I'm more of person who likes to get something for nothing... so I looked at all the hubs and found that one, has the best weight:price ratio.

Ever heard the saying "Light, cheap, reliable, pick two" that hub falls into all three categories, because on a BC wheel, bearings don't get trashed easily, you're not going to be doing huge drops on it all the time like on a BMX, so it's fine. If you are... I'm not sure why you're cheaping out on a $20 rim.

My "Dream" BC Wheel would have a Fly Bikes rim on it, or a 20" DX32, which Bedford sells for $50 I think.

I would get bedfords over udc plates. other than that, it's decent.

I could make you a set of EB plates... About $45 shipped.

Any dimensions you want.

The black tire looks too average, the blue one doesn't look good, and the red one gets a pink feel to it soon. That's my opinion:rolleyes: My BC has a white tire and it still looks good.

The Mosh hub is fine. But honestly, get the Season hub, it's nearly 1/4 pound lighter for only $5 more. Just remember, the only important thing for the hub is that it has a 14mm Axel.

Get this Nimbus DJ20 rim (http://www.unicycle.com/shopping/shopexd.asp?id=1148), or this Ditchwitch. (http://www.danscomp.com/420081.php?cat=PARTS)

The Nimbus rim is very resistant to warping due to it's width.

The Ditchwitch is really light, they also flat spot pretty easily.

If i were to make a bc wheel from scratch i would choose a hazzard lite rim. i used it on my bike when i bmxed, very good rim. as for hubs, you should get the season one. there a newer bmx brand, they came out about 1 1/2 years ago and have made a huge effect on bmxers today. the primo spokes are alright, but there is definetly better. and the primo v monster isnt that great of a tire, i would get the wall or fly ruben front.

Edit: as for rim strips.. you wont need one if you gonna have a double walled rim. And dont buy a tube of danscomp just goto your local hardwear store and get one for $5, you dont need a trials tube for a bc wheel cus your probably never gonna pop it with a normal one :)

yeah, the reason i picked that tire was because it was the only one i could find that would fit the MX-22

Im sure there are others though

I wouldn't go without a rimstrip, even with a doublewalled rim. Holes for the spokes have sharp edges that can puncture your tube.

I've heard that the nimbus plates bend.

You are pretty uninformed.

Any 20" tire on Danscomp will fit on any 20" rim.

:). All jokes aside, Really? so a 2.10 cm will fit onto a 1.75cm rim?
Also does FMF make quality parts?

Like I said, all 20" are compatible.

The second part of the size is the width of the tire.

I have never heard of FMF outside of Danscomp, someone else can put a word in for that.

A KHE Folding Park tire isn't that expensive, and it comes in at about 1/2 to 1/3 the weight of most BMX tires.
