Here's just *one* example; Dick Van Dyke was an amazing physical Comiedian: (Starts about the 1 min mark) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCLwd3S3zEI&feature=related

For those over 40 (unless you parents have made these familiar to you) what were some of your favorite sitcoms or variety shows?

A few of mine:
Dean Martin & the Golddiggers
Dick Van Dyke
Carol Burnett
I love Lucy
Laugh in
Smother Brothers

The Brady Bunch is one of my favorites...I used to love Gilligan's Island too, but for some reason it's never on TV anymore.
Get Smart
I Love Lucy
Leave it to Beaver
TV Land shows are infinitely better than anything new.

I've watched just about everything that's any good on TV land....

The Andy Griffith Show is probably the best.
I used to like Dick Van Dyke and Get Smart but I haven't seen those on TV in forever.

I also like:
I Love Lucy
Leave it to Beaver
The Beverly Hillbillies (not as much)

My dad is a big fan of Gunsmoke and Bonanza, so I've seen practically every episode of those too.

And M*A*S*H is my favorite but I guess that's not quite as old as the rest of them....

I love how the only people to post here so far are all under 20.

I love how the only people to post here so far are all under 20.Well, the *poster* is 52!:p I think the main reason for that is probably because the vast majority of forum members are well under under even 25!

Remember "Get Smart "
Haha I'm watching it now! Local station is running a mini-marathon starting with the very first episode in B&W from 1965. Awesome. I remember watching it when it was on every week...we were always excited to see the next new episode! Trivia: Don Adams was initially offerd $12,500 per week but he opted for just $4,000 per week *plus* a 33% ownership in the series. It made him extremely wealthy!

Conversely, the actors from "Gilligan's Island" just took the money with no back end profits, leaving them with zero income or residuals for each repeat. And all marketing profits and DVD sales, etc.. And that show has been replayed in syndication countless thousands of times over the past 41 years since it went off the air! Tough luck.:(
