This is a thread to discuss all things about body modification. Anything is welcome pictures, comments and so on. This is a family forum though.
Personally I have my ears gauged two 2's and two 0's, but find many other things appealing. Tongue splitting is of my particular interests. Lip plugs are another thing I could see my self getting. I would not have it done now though for more invasive things I would like to wait. It is a consistent interest I might just get it, but interests change a lot in the teenage years at least I'm that smart.
Just discuss. Please no rude comments, shouldn't be a problem here, thanks.

Hahaha, totally. If I ever had mine done it would be professionally. The tongue is something you don't want to mess around with.

Do these two statements seem inconsistent to you?
I have had an 8% amputation of the left middle finger that many find very appealing. Nothing like hacking bits of yourself off to look pretty. I was hot before the accident but now I'm SMOKIN' hot.

Your screen name modification is pretty hot too. ;)
The two statements, by the way, are only inconsistent if the professional is not a board certified member of the American Academy of Tongue Bifurcationists.

Something like that academy. If they are trained good the procedure should be fairly safe.

I know it's to each his own and everything, but...I cannot look at those pictures of the bifurcated tongues without gagging a little. I can not imagine doing that, either by myself or with a professional.
The only kind of body modification I'd ever get is a tattoo, I think. And anything more than tattoos, ear piercings, or belly button piercings on girls just turns me off, sorry.

For a while I was idly thinking about getting my eyebrow pierced but decided against it.
I might get a tattoo some day but am fairly happy with my body the way it is.
While I would never do it I think the idea of tongue splitting is sort of interesting especially if you could learn to move the two sides independently.

Work accident. I got paid $1300 by the state for it as an 8% amputation of a digit apparently worth $16,250. I would pay twice that to have it back. Try fretting a guitar with that puppy or writing. I write left handed. I used to eat ambidextrously with chopsticks but left handed is a bit challenging now. I also learned that that is the last surface a basketball rolls off when making a shot. I only played left handed up close but it made a difference. Picking up things is tricky. I think it happened about 10 years ago and I'm still not used to it.

I was wondering when a thread like this would get posted.
I'll make this short and simple. This is my profession, and I make a very good living at it. I am one of the most modified people on the planet. I am not about to list my mods on here for it will disgust most if not all of the members on here.
If anyone is looking for advice on anything whether it be tattooing advice, or subdermal implantation/tongue bifurcation...I have had it all, and performed it all. I would be happy to discuss ideas or questions through e-mail on my website. I am for sure not going to get into discussion or arguements on this website regarding my business. Thanks.
I would hope that people would keep a level of respect about this on here. Whether you believe in body modification or not, don't bad mouth others. I am the most anti-christian guy on here, and I keep my mouth shut because it's a unicycle website not a christianity forum.
For anyone who might post derogatory remarks against body modifications, just remember what you did this this week....Bathe, brush teeth, trim fingernails, cut hair, shave, tweeze eyebrows, put a condom on, get lasik surgery, or has a wife/gf that wants/has breast implants......arguement over! It's all forms of body modification.
This is usually where people extend an arguement with me and say you're just doing it for attention...and this is where I can finally call bullshit because we all wouldn't give two shits about unicycling if we weren't doing it for some type of attention.:D

The only advice I'm going to give here is the fact that the correct terminology for ear lobe modification is "Stretching". You are "stretching" you ears not "Gauging" them. The growth of this incorrect term has spread throughout the country faster than africanized bees. You don't call you shoes "Sizes" do you?
More than a few of my collegues are now putting signs up in their shops referring to this and they might look something like this...
Ear stretching is free with the purchase of new jewelry.
Ear gauging is $5 with the purchase of new jewelry.

Thanks nice to see some other people into it. Just for you I know they are not huge, but they will be getting there. I had a 7/16 but I went from a 2 to 7/16 in like 5 days so it got infected and I am back at a 2. Sorry for the confusion before I have 2 0's not 00's that is what is in this picture. I'm also growing my hair out for dreads right now and trying to find someone to put them inf or me. That sucks about your school, I don't think we have any rules here, but at least you will know for sure you want it after waiting. I' thinking of getting my nose done tomorrow by my brother, I would like to have 0 or 00 tunnels eventually if there is a way to cover them up for a job though.
Nice, girls with gauges and tattoos are so much more attractive to me.

Body modding is not graffiti. It's *your* canvas to mess up as you please. All the rest of us can do is go "Eww," unless of course you're a minor and we're your parents. They're allowed to enforce their aesthetic opinions.
One of the interesting things I learned from an earlier discussion on body mods in this forum was that many body modders are not into tattoos. It stood out when one of the people said "I would never get one of those." I thought that was funny but then I realized most body mods are easier to undo than a tattoo.
If tattoos count, I have two body mods. The tattoo (http://unicycling.smugmug.com/gallery/933327#42719957), and my right clavicle, which I'm in the process of reshaping into an ugly thing with a big blob in the middle. The bone is still filling in between the two jagged ends. BTW I think that's grosser than tongue bifurcation, though I wasn't planning on breaking my clavicle...

I'm a Christian and I honestly see no issue with tattoo's themselves. Some Christians do and some don't. I'm not trying to turn this into a "religious" (or whatever) thread, but I want to point out some Christians are pretty hardcore about tattoo's. Look at most of the hardcore (Christian) metal bands; Norma Jean, As I Lay Dying, Living Sacrifice..etc..
Just thought I'd point that out.
I love tattoo's and hope to get more eventually. I currently have one on my left forearm that reads "The Beatles" with the "Yellow Submarine" blue hand pointing....

Accredit whatever you want buddy....I've been through a lot of surgery. I have also had very extensive conversations with doctors about how certain surgeries would and should be performed. I have had lengthy conversations with anethesiologists about how to perform certain methods. I have been complimented by plenty of doctors on my suturing ability. I have also been referred by doctors for almost a decade in my professional as a body piercer/tattoo artist. I have tattooed and pierced many medical professionals. I have saved people thousands of dollars in hospital bills that have asked for my help instead of having a late night ER nurse peform a shitty suture job. Maybe that helps a bit before you judge someone you don't know??? I'm not sure.
Just out of curiosity, what do you do?
There is a fantastic joke that I've seen floating around in the past couple years, and it goes like this...
Q: "What's the difference between people with tattoos, and the people without tattoos?"
A: "The people with tattoos could give a shit less if someone is tattooed or not."
I don't care if you like tattoos or not, but it is becoming a fine art so keep your comments about "Messing up your canvas" to yourself.
I don't know shit about you, so I would keep derogatory non-unicycle opinions out of this. There is a huge generation gap on this website and it makes it very hard to keep opinions kind sometimes. To clear up any confusion, tattoos and piercings and other mods are not just for stupid young kids. I am a 30 year old single dad that makes as much per hour as most attorneys. I tattoo and pierce anyone from a broke 18 year old kid looking for some in stant gratification to people who make several hundred thousand dollars per year that are looking for my personal artwork to be put on them for the rest of their life.
That is one hell of an honor to have.
For example: The other day I tattooed a guy who was getting a portrait of his late grandfather. His mother was in with him and she hated the idea of tattooing. She just wanted to be tthere for her son while he got the work done. She eventually saw the finished portrait of her father on her son, and broke down in tears. She was so thrilled with the quality of the tattoo that she totally changed her mind about the idea of tattooing. It's an amazing feeling to change someone's life so drastically when accorrding to you I am just "messing up someone's canvas."
Care to share any of your stories with us now?
Are you a member of the National Tongue Bifurcator's Association? We're looking for someone accredited. :)

I have this idea of having the things that are important to me in my life tatooed on my body (like juggling etc). Kind of my life story. So that when I'm really old and can't even remember my name, they will still be there on my body.
And who cares what they look like when I'm 70, nothing much is going to look good by then anyway.

For what it's worth and for those who aren't bored shitless by this link (http://www.unicyclist.com/index.php?page=gallery&g2_itemId=132558), I have three tattoos. I'm very pleased with them all, hope to get more, and look forward to what they will look like when I'm 64.
I don't plan any other modifications because those others don't interest me. Though I have nothing against them. Harper does, however. I know this for a fact.

I... I... I... I... Just out of curiosity, what do you do?
John doesn't wave his e-penis all over the Internet as you seem to be doing so vehemently. Your baiting him doesn't do much for your "argument" either... wait... did you have a point?
I think you're taking things too personally. The "tattoo haters" aren't dissing your art, they're dissing your canvas.

Accredit whatever you want buddy...Apparently you did not read this thread from the beginning. If you had you would have laughed. Okay, might have. Of all the people posting in this thread you seem to be the guy to talk to if anyone is serious about having something like that done. Offline, of course, as you mentioned in your first post.
Maybe that helps a bit before you judge someone you don't know??? I'm not sure. Just out of curiosity, what do you do?Sorry if you felt judged. Again, read the earlier posts to see what I meant about finding an accredited tongue Bifurcator. I am a photographer and graphic/Web designer. I am a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (which doesn't prove anything other that I'm willing to pay their steep membership). I'm also an occasional professional unicyclist.
I don't care if you like tattoos or not, but it is becoming a fine art so keep your comments about "Messing up your canvas" to yourself.Art is in the eye of the beholder. One person's masterpiece is another person's burn scar. The customer is the one who must be pleased with the look of a tattoo (or body mod), while everyone else can basically go stuff themselves. But they don't have to like it. That's part of being art, and something every artist must keep in mind. If you try to please everyone, your art will start coming out like pop music.
I'm sorry you got the impression I have a problem with tattoos. Obviously this did not come from reading this thread, in which I linked to a picture of my own, which I got at the tender age of 43. Got a generation gap? Go see an orthodontist.
I don't know shit about you, so I would keep derogatory non-unicycle opinions out of this. That's very respectful of you, and I will do the same. But as this is Just Conversation, again it is the place where people share their opinions about "everything else."
Note to Divebomber:
"Yellow Submarine blue hand pointing"? It's a great tattoo, from a visually great movie. I hope you've seen the movie! They call it the Glove. Smoke the (word) glove, knock off the ash, and you have love. I'm a big Yellow Submarine (and Beatles) fan.
Note to whoever:
"Harper" is not Greg Harper. He has changed his account name to something I don't care to reconstruct, but it's got all modified (body modded) letters. Whoever's posting as Harper in this thread, get a life, or at least a user account that's not supposed to be somebody else!
{edit} On the other hand, maybe the real Harper is using both accounts. I just read something in another thread that sounds very much like the real Harper...
And who cares what they look like when I'm 70, nothing much is going to look good by then anyway.Exactly. Everybody keeps asking what your tattoo is going to look like when you're old and droopy. It's going to look like the rest of you! And so what? When you're old, you're supposed to be wrinkled and droopy.

Thanks John! I am a big Beatles fan, but the only movie I haven't seen is "Yellow Submarine" oddly enough!

Thank you Cathy, When I tell people that i want near copious amounts of tatoos.
I am thinking about sleeves, or at least partial sleeves.
They say WHAT IS IT GOING TO LOOK LIKE WHEN YOUR 60??!!!???
And you summed it up, who cares??
Your old anyway, so who would you be trying to impress?

I like the look of labret rings, and I am probably going to get one once I'm 18, along with a cartilidge ring. For those of you who don't know, a labret is a lower lip piercing, I was thinking off to one side, probably my left.

Question about kissing a modified lip:
As a voyeur to the body modification scene, I have always wondered if kissing a modified lip or tongue was pleasurable or more of a distraction. I have never found putting someone’s earrings in my mouth pleasurable. How could having their lip hardware getting in the way of a good kiss be pleasurable?

I have numerous tattoos and think that tats are awesome. I would have more if I didn't keep buying unis and other stuff. Eventually I would like to get both arms sleved a big back piece and some chest ones. Not a full body suit as such.
Other body modifications don't really turn me on that much although some implants that i have seen look pretty cool. Like those guys that have screw in mohawks. That's nuts.
I also agree with wickedbob that chicks with tats are hot. Just depends on the way they're done and how much. Too much artwork on a girl can be off putting to me. But that's just my opinion.

I've been into body mods for about twelve years now and after about thirty plus piercings in my face (not all at the same time mind) and about twenty in my body, i decided that i wanted tattooed but i didn't just want to pick something off a wall so i waited untill i had something worth having forever,i'm waiting now untill i can afford a reputable tattooist to do the work properly as my mate spent a lot of time drawing them.

i think its all pretty gross. you (sarin) argue things that can grow back, while it seems to me that most of what you do is PERMANENT, and even if it does grow back its going to be different forever. i think its ok to have a peircing or two, i'm not against it in moderation, but as a whole, i don't like it. i have several friends with peircings and tatoos, but i'm definitely not one to get one. basically, if you want to screw up your body, go for it. i'm not going to hold it against you.

...i didn't just want to pick something off a wall so i waited untill i had something worth having forever,i'm waiting now untill i can afford a reputable tattooist to do the work properly...Sorry about the ..., your entire post was one sentence. I would offer similar advice to anyone thinking of getting tattoos. Think really hard about the image you want. If you don't mind choosing something off the wall; something that wasn't drawn for you, that's fine. But if you want it to be unique, take your time.
You should never be in a hurry to get tattooed. Your skin is with you for your entire life, and you'll have to live with whatever you put on there. I thought about a tattoo design for a long time before finally getting one done. Even then, I allowed the artist to draw me something I wasn't entirely satisfied with and went ahead with it.
I love my tattoo (http://unicycling.smugmug.com/gallery/933327#42719957), but had I given it a little more time, I think I would have ended up with one that bore a little closer resemblance to my logo, and a little less resemblance to the Jamba Juice (http://www.jambajuice.com/) logo.
Consider doing it in two steps. The first step is getting your artwork designed, either by yourself, a friend, or the tattoo artist. If done by a non-tattoo person, it may have to be modified to work well as a tattoo. But get it the way you want it, then set up your appointment to get inked.
As it stands, I'm now more of a fan of the Jamba Juice logo, and when I redo my own, it may end up being somewhere in between the original version and the one on my leg! :)
